SOURCE: Tappan Electric Oven

I have a Tappan double oven range. An older model #316065301

How do I operate the cleaning cycle? I set the start and stop times, Locked the door and switched to clean. The clean light comes on but it doesn't heat up much at all. Never locks. I have misplaced my instructions manual.

Any help would be appreciated.

SOURCE: self cleaning oven instructions

Self cleans generally do a good ****on small messes in 2 -2.5 hours. Larger messes take 3. Leaving the racks in is okay...but they will likely lose their shiny appearance. Manuals are on the GE website.

Yeah just turn the left hand knob to the one setting which isn't a cooking function - I think it looks a bit like a dash - and then power up as normal on the right hand knob.
It happpened to me but you get the hang of it and it's not a fault.

SOURCE: self cleaning oven directions

Press the self-clean button.  The panel becomes blank(---), then press the up arrow( ^ ).  The panel will appear 3:00 (indication for the duration of self-cleaning). The oven will lock on its own and start the self-cleaning.  Good luck, ya'll!

I forgot silicone rack covers during a self clean cycle. I now have white powder all over the oven. The powder repels water. Once it is cleaned up is it safe to use the oven?

Food grade silicone (what is used to make the rack guards) pyrolizes at the much higher oven cleaning temperatures. The white powder is what is left from that process....which a number of people (who have done the same thing) indicate is not easy to remove so good luck.
But your exposure to anything was probably worst during the pyrolysis as compared to what was left (white powder). If you are successful in removing it ... I would run the oven again in self clean mode ... check to make sure no other residue shows up ... and then use the oven as normal

Neff B4562

Engineer is a solution.
The other solution is;

Switch 3 times between rotisserie and pyrolysis or bread baking setting and pyrolysis.

As acknowledgement the displays are actuated.

At each change of operating modes switch immediately stops the current test step and the next step of the test enabled. The oven light should according to the mode ON or OFF; that is, at pyrolysis OFF otherwise ON.

Using self clean

This link will take you to the manual for your oven. You will find the self-clean instructions, starting on page 11:

https://www.whirlpool.com/digitalassets/MLPDF/Use%20and%20Care%20Guide%20-%208300772.pdf

Notice that the above is a .PDF file type. If you cannot view it after clicking on the above link, you need to install Adobe Reader onto your computer first.
You can get the free download for it here:

Good luck--and please provide feedback if this helps!

Hi i have a Stainless Steel AE6BSS Single Built In Electric Oven from argos, everytime i put oven on above 120 it trips all electric down stairs does anyone know what this problem could be thankyou

It will most likely be a faulty oven heating element causing an earth fault which trips the breaker.

You will need to have a replacement element fitted.

Bottom oven door won't open

Started the pyrolysis cycle for 1 minute and then cancelled it. The door then unlocked.
