Sir,

Veryy sorry and the solution is

1) Open the registry editor by selecting "Run" from the start menu and then typing in "regedit".

2) Browse through the registry and select the entry mentioned in the error message.

3) Choose "Permissions..." from either the edit menu or by right-clicking on the registry key's parent directory.

4) Click the "Advanced" button to add a new user.

5) Type in "Everyone" as the new user and click OK (it may not be necessary to give everyone full control but this is what I did and it worked).

6) Configure the permissions for user "Everyone" to "Full Control"

7) Uninstall acronis tru image(if necessary) and re-install.

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.
click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

Can files be recovered from a failing hard drive?

Yes, files MAY be recovered from a failing hard drive, however the success depends on how badly the existing drive is functioning.

What I would suggest (if you are able to boot into windows) is to go to a command prompt by using the start menu , then in the RUN box type the letters 'CMD' and hit enter. In the box that appears next, type the following text: chkdsk /f /r <then press enter>.

The system will tell you that it cannot run the operation on the drive and ask if you want it to run on the next startup. Hit 'Y' then press enter.

The next time your machine is rebooted, the system will run a drive scan checking for errors on the drive and repair what it can.

That's step 1.

Next you want to get your data to a new drive, so you will need to put a new drive in your machine along side the existing drive. You will need to connect a power cable from the power supply wiring harness, and an SATA cable between the motherboard and hard drive. (You may need to go into the system setup in order to activate the second SATA port. You do this by pressing the appropriate key to enter Setup when the computer boots. F2 on the Optiplex.

Once you have the new hard drive in, you will need to use cloning software such as Acronis True Image. For this, since the drive you are cloning is probably a system drive, meaning you cannot clone it while you are booted into windows, you will need to create a bootable USB disk or CD/DVD, which can be used to boot to an alternate OS for the purpose of running the cloning software to clone the system drive while the system drive is not in use.

There is a free trial of acronis true image here: http://www.acronis.com/en-us/homecomputing/trueimage/gettrial/
and instructions for creating a bootable disk here: https://kb.acronis.com/content/44741

If you decide this is too much work, you should be able to have the same thing done at a local computer shop for around $150 plus the cost of a new drive. (I'd recommend a solid state drive as your new drive). You'll appreciate the performance boost and prices are now pretty reasonable.

Good luck!

Google Chrome home page defaults to Delta search, despite me trying to change it to Google search in Chrome Settings. The changes I am making are not applying. What am I doing wrong?

Go to settings --> Search -->
there from the dropdown box, choose "google" or other, whichever you want, as the default search engine..

OR

in the extensions, uninstall the DELTA search tool bar, if accidentally it was installed.

How i can reuse the norton 360 v 4.3.0.5 Its trial period is expired. Plz send me product key or trial reseter. special thanks

Please remove the existing version of Norton program from the control panel, then go ahead and delete all Symantec and Norton files from the computer's C or D drive.

After that, open your registry and first take a back up just in case anything get deleted by mistake.
Then delete all Norton and Symantec files from HK CURRENT USER, HKEY LOCAL MACHINE, HKEY USERS, HKEY CURRENT CONFIG.

You can click on the SOFTWARE folder in each class to find the Norton files if any.
To open your registry editor, type regedit in RUN command (windows key+R)

After that you can again install a trial version of Norton for 30 days.

Added iomega quick protect to automatically do back ups - it keeps crashing my computer

Software causing Hardware Fault, it's getting more and more common. Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software?
This is out of context and of noones recommendation other than my own but I would recommend using "Macrium Reflect" for backups as it will create images of the entire hard drive or just parts and pieces, whatever you select and once setup will do it at whichever intervals you prefer (daily, weekly, monthly). It can backup to remote locations or onto a local hard drive and is fairly easy to use.
Now back onto the main question:
Try this;
1. Uninstall the application
2. Locate teh folder it was in if it's still there and delete it.
3. Reinstall the Application
4. Configure it to backup to a hard drive (Not the same drive as the Operating System)
Please do tell me if any of this was helpful and if not I will do my best to help further.

I have installed Windows 7 and trying to install McAfee 2010 and the install will not complete because of a message that Spy Sweeper conflicts with McAfee. How can I uninstall spy sweeper? It is not listed...

Go to Start/Run and enter regedit hit the Enter key.
Go to:
HKEY LOCAL MACHINE/SOFTWARE/MICROSOFT/WINDOWS/CURRENTVERSION/UNINSTALL

Look for any entries in that key that pertain to webroot or spysweeper and delete them. be very careful to only delete those entries and none of the others.

Or
You may also see HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Webroot

In that REG_SZ . Delete this entry and restart your pc .. now you can install mcfeee

I am unable to copy hard drive c onto simpletech

Unfortunately you can not perform a straight drag and drop from a boot drive. The best option for the preservation of all your data, as well as being much faster, would be to utilize backup software such as Acronis TrueImage Home:

http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/

Using the link above you can download a 15 day full feature trial which will allow you to create a backup image (with many options available) of your current C: drive to the media of your choice.
