Re: capasitor

You can try, but it may have blown due to some other problem. If you see what type/value it was give it a try. If it physically blew up I would wear safety glasses before you power up the new one if you're going to have the case open.

My remote works sometimes and then does not work anymore....

This could be caused by bad, worn, corroded battery terminals, The main circuit board could be faulty or bad capacitors or other electronical components, or the buttons are worn down. Either way, I do beleve you are better off getting a replacement remote cheap. Universal or Original Replacement.

Tripp Lite KVM monitor light doesn't come on anymore .....

The switch may be the problem but it also may be the monitors internal power supply. To check you can open the case by the little switch and remove the plunger ( the little pin that moves up and down) If you get a picture back then the switch is the problem and you will have to bend the flat spring up to give it a little more movement. I would be if the monitor is about 2-3 years old that the problem is in the power supply board. After a few years many LCD monitors have issues with the power boards blowing capacitors. It happens on desktop monitors and rack mount units too. If you have an external power adapter for the monitor check the voltage output and replace if it is not steady. If the power supply is internal to the monitor then you will need to open the case and check the capacitors for heat damage. Check our site at: for pictures of what to look for. Replace any that look like the pictures and you should be back going again. The values that you will need are going to be marked on the sides of the bad caps. Be sure to use a high temp replacement or the problem will be back in a month or two. If yo don't want to do the repair yourself we do offer a repair service of the monitor for $40 plus return shipping. If you have any questions just let me know.

I hope this helps, if so please rate our solution.

AP5201 KVM was working; after power down, moving rack, setting up again -- no keyboard action. Got the right plugs in the right ports. Powered down as the manual says and powered back up. Tried different...

If other keyboards and mice won't work, it sounds like your KVM bought the farm. Does it have any power lights that come on? is it plugged into a live outlet? Are they PS2 ports or USB? PS2 ports don't like power surges. Is the device plugged into a UPS? Does the UPS have power or is is tripped? In a server room?
