My D530 will not start up there is just a green flashing led

First check num lock key on key bord when u press it numlock led is on and offf.if that led on and off then your cpu is ok then you need to change screen resolution
when you power press F8 key then enter in enable vga mode then go to control panel ->dispaly ->settings then change screen resolution to 1024*768 then aply and ok then restart it.

But if num lock key not onn and offf then you need to open cpu cabinet then reattch all connection to mother bord also reattch connection to harddisk.
Also pull cmos cell for 15 minutes then refix it then all settings of bios are reset to defaults.
then check.

Why would you want to try to repair a working green LED?
But you need a manual, to check what the blinking light means. See how it flashes, because the board is trying to tell you what is wrong with these flashes. Like perhaps bad voltage, or bad RAM or ROM? or lost all settings.

How old is the battery? Is it a replacement? My batteries usually last 4 years, more or less.

LED light is orange but computer is on.


it sounds like you may have overloaded the PSU, best thing to try would be to take out the dvd burner and and try booting again, if this doesn;t have any affect it may mean you need a new psu (power supply).

Hp530 Ultra Slim starts and stop after 3-20sec


I have had this once before, and then it was one of the hard disk cables which was interfering with the fans inside the case. In my PC it was the PSU fan which was being halted. Try moving the cables around inside the case and ensure none of the corners where they are folded are protruding into any of the fans.

When I power on I get a green light on the monitor


Monitor is not geting the signal from the PC.
connected the monitor to the AVG port on the rear of the PC and see if you get the monitor to go up. if not, try to get a video card.

Hy hp d530 won't turn on


Hello,

I have a similar problem:

My Compaq d530 was running fine until one day during plugging in a USB device (MP3 player) the system completely stopped working. The only thing which is active is the green LED on the mainboard.

I have checked several things and have found the following:
- IDE cable had burn marks!! (nasty)
- USB connection cable which runs from the front to the motherboard has changed in color. (darker green while all other connector have e more light white color.)

These are the signs of a brun out, but I do not have any solution to repair this.

Economically the best thing to do is buy a second hand (or new) system. (d530 are about 60 euros these days (march 2009). Hardware parts can maybe salvaged.

HP D530 Will not start:


It can't be the RAM, it would be beeping if the RAM was not installed properly. If it was and they were bad, it would fail in Windows.

We've had numerous similar problems to yours with our D530's. Check the motherboard to see if any of the capacitors (round barrel shaped components) are swollen (round on top) or leaking. It is a known manufacturers defect and they were replacing those motherboards for free, unfortunately that program just ended.

If the capacitors are all flat on top, its probably the power supply. We've had four go bad in the past month. They sometimes smell like something is burning before they go bad. The D-530 model is unfortunately our most unreliable model ever, they are junk. Good luck.

D530 CMT minttower power problem


Hi, from your description it appears your power supply is ok.

Remove your RAM chips, clean everything with a soft brush or a can of compressede air [from computer store] Reinstall the RAM making sure it is seated firmly.

If this does not solve the problem, Are you using 1 or 2 RAM sticks? if 2 then remove them again and swap them around.

stick one in dimm2 and stick 2 in dimm 1.

If you only have one stick then beg or borrow another stick and try it. If all fails you may have developed a mobo problem.
