My xbox 360 can't connect MTU xbox live it's the modem

To find your MTU Settings, follow these steps.
1. Click on 'Start'
2. Click on 'Run...'
3. In the bar, type CMD, and hit enter.
4. A black box should appear. Type "ipconfig" without quotation marks in the field.
5. Your IP Address, Subnet Mask, and Default Gateway codes should pop up.
6 Go to your internet browser and type you IP Address into the URL box.
7. You should find MTU settings, and you can set them to your desire.

• There are no user configurable options to cable modems, everything is based off the configuration file that your ISP pushes to the modem during registration.

• Try connecting your XBOX directly

you need to make an xbox live profile not mtu for offline. You have to make a new profile.

Is the modem also a router?
You need to login to the IP address of your device... if the modem is only a modem, try going to your own IP address.

http://whatismyip.com will help you find it. This may bring you into the settings of the modem. If it is a router as well, then you will need to go to your default gateway's IP address.

Go to start, then run.
Type cmd, then click ok.
type 'ipconfig' and hit enter. Look for your Default Gateway
type that ip into your browser (IE/Firefox/whatever) and login
adjust the MTU to recommended settings. If its at 1500, try 1364 of 1492

xbox live is down for maintainence it will be back up 2moro

I have been through this before, I learned how to change my mtu but that did not work. I wound up getting a new modem. And thats what worked

mtu is not working cant hook up xbox live

for some reason i cant connect to live, it says that my mtu has failed. any surgesstions how i solve this??
