During my last move the screw that connects the base to the monitor disappeared! The monitor is in great condition so I want to find a replacement for this very important piece. Where can I go?

Which type of screws

Usually you rummage through your old screw dish/box and find one that fits. Threads for plastic - course. Threads for metal - fine. Check the length.

Monitor has fast moving color bands. Unplugging has not helped, restarting computer has not helped

looks like to video card is on its last leg now.
if your computer has built in vga port, transfer the vga cable from the video card and see if the problem disappear. Or better if you have extra video card replace the old one and see if the problem remains.

Most likely its the video card problem, you can also try fixing the vga cable connected on your video card and monitor. It has two screws on both end that need to be fix.

let me know if this help

I've moved the computer & monitor to a new office & when all is connected up I get the message No Signal Input, check video cable, but all cables ie power & cable to computer are plugged in.

Make sure your monitor cable is screwed in on both ends. It is possible that your cable was damaged during moving, check for bent or missing pins on both ends of the plug.

It seems that the red is missing from the color monitor. It has blue and green hues but no red

Verify the cables and the connector pins of your monitor, at both cable ends. Ensure the cable is properly connected and the retainer screws are tight. A primary color's disappearance on a (S)VGA monitor is usually caused by a faulty contact in the connector (if you can, verify the cable also by switching with another PC's).

Removal of eMachine M6410 optical drive

There are two small screws that the monitor cable would screw into, these have to be removed (7mm i believe) to be able to remove the base. The optical drive will typically pull out of the side after a screw has been removed and latch has been opened. I wouldn't go as far as removing the entire base.
