Signal Performance
The liftgate can be released placing the transaxle in park, unlocking all the doors and then pressing the touchpad on the underside of the liftgate handle. Battery voltage is supplied to the liftgate latch assembly through the liftgate relay. The body control module will pulse the liftgate relay when a release input is received through the touchpad.
The liftgate release switch is an input to the body control module (BCM). The BCM supplies battery voltage to the signal circuit and when the release switch is activated the signal circuit voltage goes low. The BCM controls the liftgate release actuator through the liftgate latch release relay. When the release switch signal is activated, the BCM enables the liftgate latch release relay by applying battery voltage to the liftgate latch release relay supply circuit and the relay is energized when the BCM grounds the liftgate latch release relay control circuit. When the relay is energized battery voltage is supplied to the liftgate release actuator through the liftgate release actuator control circuit.
I suggest you have it checked at the dealer, could have DTC'S do you know what diagnostic trouble codes are ?

My keyless entry doesn't have the button to open the lift gate does it have to have the button to do what u commented. Yes I am familiar with diagnostic codes. I have a computer if I plugged it into the car will it give me a code for the lift gate.
I've tried changing the fuse too. But I didn't try the relay fuse. Can't find the relay fuse box.
No you can't get code with your computer ,unless you have GM scan tool software an proper hook up cable for the DLC - diagnostic link connector . The relay is in instrument panel fuse box ,Fuse Block - I/P
Under the lower right side of the instrument panel
The under side of the lid with give you L/GATE relay placement . If you replace the relay an it still doesn't work ,go on youtube check out videos on testing relay an testing at the relay base(where it plugs into) On the bottom of the relay or side are numbers 30,87 an 85,86 . 30&87 is the side that applies power , 85&86 are the control side of relay .If you took a piece of wire an jumped 87 to 30 in the socket the door should or would unlock if there is noting wrong with the lock actuator .
Ok. Thank u. I will try it today

There has been problems with that component, also Saturn Outlook ,has faulty gear, and will have to be calibrated and programmed to vehicle.ll

Look for a bad common ground connection for the two lights. Modern cars seem to have a problem making secure long-lasting ground points. There may also be a problem with the turn indicator switch as both lights are run through that switch.

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome to the site. You need to make sure that your fuse is not blown. Check your fuse box diagram for the location. If the fuse is fine, you may have a bad switch. There could be a loose wire or a bad connection to the switch.

from inside or outside ? if won't open from inside your child safety lock is probably tripped. if won't open from outside you probably have a lock rod that popped off inside the door, in which I would have the dealer fix it, it involves taking door pad off and when you can't open door to take pad off ,most of the time it damages it.
