Hi i want to change my password on my Huawei router. how do i reset it . Thanks

To reset the password on your Huawei router, you can follow these general steps:
  1. Access the Router Settings:
    • Connect your computer or mobile device to the Huawei router via Wi-Fi or an Ethernet cable.
    • Open a web browser and enter the default IP address of the router in the address bar. The default IP address for Huawei routers is often "192.168.1.1" or "192.168.0.1". If these addresses don't work, you can check the router's documentation or look for the default IP address on the router itself.
    • Press Enter to access the router's login page.
  2. Log in to the Router's Configuration Page:
    • On the login page, enter the username and password. The default login credentials are usually provided on the router or in the documentation. Common default usernames and passwords for Huawei routers are "admin" for both the username and password fields.
    • Click on the Login or Sign In button to proceed.
  3. Navigate to the Password Settings:
    • Once you are logged in, find the settings section related to Wi-Fi, Wireless, or Security.
    • Look for an option named "Password," "WPA Key," or "Pre-Shared Key" to change the Wi-Fi password.
    • If you want to change the router's administration password (used to access the router's settings page), look for an option like "System," "Administration," or "Management" settings.
  4. Change the Password:
    • Enter your desired new password in the appropriate field.
    • Make sure to choose a strong and secure password that includes a combination of letters, numbers, and special characters.
    • Some routers may require you to re-enter the new password to confirm it.
  5. Save the Changes:
    • After entering the new password, look for a "Save," "Apply," or "Submit" button to save the changes.
    • Click on the appropriate button to save the new password.
  6. Test the New Password:
    • Disconnect any devices currently connected to the Wi-Fi network.
    • Reconnect the devices to the Wi-Fi network using the new password to ensure it is working correctly.

How can I change my password

Enter the account name and password to open the router setup utility.

Navigate through the setup utility until you find the screen that will let you change the password. You will need to enter the old password to change it.

Decide on a new password that has good security to a hacker. The best password is more than 8 characters and uses both lower case and upper case letters and numbers. Some will allow you to use special characters also. Do not make the password anything that can be found in a dictionary or any date of significance.

Enter the old password in the change password page of the router. When prompted then enter the new password. You will be asked to enter it twice to confirm that the correct password is entered.

Immediately, record the new password in some secure location that you can find if you forget it.

Confirm the password change on the router page and log off the router. To check the information and that the router has been setup correctly with the new password, open the router address in the browser again and login with the new information. If you are able to login, you have successfully changed the password.

D-Link wireless router forgot password how may I recover or assign a new one

Hi there,

A wireless router password wont be recovered unless you still have the password you can enter or if the router is unmanaged without an admin password.

another option would be resetting your router to be able to get through the router and assign a new password.

here's how: you need to directly connect your computer or laptop wired going to your router not using a wireless one. then reset, make a new network configuration and put your admin password later. dont forget to backup your router config. in a folder together with your password so the nextime you forgot any thing or change anything. just look back to your folder where you put your backup config. and password.

Re: Password change

Hi, The below steps are assuming that your router is at default settings, you are connected to your router (preferably by LAN), you can ping your router. 1. Open a browser (IE or Mozilla); 2. in the address bar type "192.168.1.1", enter; 3. on both username and password type ?admin?, OK; 4. in Quick Setup, select Step 1, Next; 5. in Password type your "New Password"; 6. in Verify Password type again your "New Password", Exit; 7. Save Settings; and 8. restart router. All other configurations should remain as-is. Hope this be of some help/idea. Post back how things turned out or should you need additional information. Good luck and kind regards.
