I purchased a Philips PET707 portable DVD player. It worked fine for a while, but now, when I put a disk into it, it just says

Replace the player, the laser pickup assembly is the problem, overtime it becomes weaker until it can no longer read the disk.

It implies a media Optical Power Calibration problem (google it). Did you recently start using a different type or brand of disc?

My DVD player is not getting loaded or not responding to the DVD.Whenever I am putting a disc,it is first responding as loading but after 30sec.it is showing No disc. please help

Its time to service your player. Your lens are either dirty or it needs a replacement. Its a common problem for all DVD players after sometime of usage. Seek your nearest tech store to get it fixed. Or you have experience in fixing this stuffs? Then open up the player, look for the optical lens. Get a clean, soft thin layered cloth.Rub it on top of the lens and clean it thoroughly. Once uve noticed there's no more dirt, fix it up and fire it. Should be working fine. Still NO? Then it needs a replacement or a fine tuning which definitely u cant do it as it needs an oscilloscope to tune it + the manual which only the tech can do it. Hope this helps.

Our Philips HTS3400 DVD player is not working. When inserting a disc, it displays "No Disc". Any suggestions?

seems to be an issue with this model, i cant play any discs, the sound is only coming from the left rear speaker and the sub, the system shuts off every half hour due to overheating...needless to say the system sucks...didnt last long...im very tech savvy and still couldnt figure out why all of this was happening.
im looking at samsung now...everything else i have is samsung and love it.

I'm a bit late to the party here but the solution is to right click the shortcut to the Philips DMM and run as an Administrator. It all works fine if you do.
