Not really [ only possible might be to a faster P3 cpu]. Those motherboards are so old it would be cheaper to just buy a new system as Dell cases & power supplies, etc for that old a computer are all proprietary and would take major modification to upgrade to a new motherboard, ram, cpu and such. Hope this helps.

Upgrade compaq armada e500

It has been a while but I think it isn't a zif but a standard low profile socket. You need a good light and check the edges to see if you can see the layers or where the cpu edges are. You should see the color differences between the plastic or the socket and the cpu. From above it will look like just a cpu but from the sides you should see the cpu overhand the socket a small bit or be flush with the edges.

The cpu has to be a M series P3 and you may need to adjust bus speeds and/or ram speed to make it work. May also have to upgrade bios as well.

DELL OptiPlex GX150 Upgrading

The fastest processor you can install in a GX150 is a Pentium III 1.13 Ghz processor.

The Socket 370 was a design used only for P3 processors.

Max RAM for that system is 512MB no way to upgrade past that.

If you paid $100 for a GX150, you paid way too much (You can buy a refurbished Dell Dimension C521 for $225 at their refurb site)

Upgrade GX150 from P3 933mhz to something better

yes, to 1.1 gigs is not difficult, much higher than that and you would have to upgrade the BIOS software.
