I have four of these phones all ****, they are doing the same thing. the battery overheats and wont hold a charge, AT&T say nothing is wrong with the phone, they sent me a new battery and a month later the same problem occurred, I was lucky I had ins, they sent me a Sam-sung to replace it, nice phone. The only solution I have is don't buy another LG, you keep your ins and keep submitting a claim until they fix the problem.
I forget my LG Vu (CU920) was in my pocket and I jumped in the pool. I was in the pool for about 10 minutes before I realized. It was full of water. I took the battery out as soon as I realized it. HERES HOW I FIXED IT!!!!!!!!!
Step 1- I took it home, removed the screws on the back panel, and removed it. Now the entire back casing was off.
Step 2- I put the phone and battery (separate) in a bowl of uncooked rice. Sounds crazy but this absorbs all of the water. I left it in there for 2 days.
Step 3- After 2 days, I put the battery back in and everything turned on. Only problem was there was a big bubble in my LCD screen. I then took the phone apart further by popping of the front casing of the phone. I then try to get underneath the LCD to air it out, but I accidentally broke the LCD screen (inside the phone...not plastic outer screen).
Step 4- I went online and purchased a new LCD screen for around $40 from a cel phone parts website. I got it and installed it which was not too hard. You just have to remove all the visible screws (i believe there are 6) from the back side. Then pop off the front cover and the rest is pretty obvious.
Step 5- Put it all back together and it all worked again!
Step 6- My battery soon died after of all this...Im guessing from the water damage. I bought a new one online for around 20 bucks. Now the phone is good as new.
All in all spent 60 bucks and revived the Vu from water damage!!!!!!!!!
if you droped the Vu than you could have damaged the insides and that might cause the repeating of it shuting off but a easyer way to get music onto your Vu is to get a Micro SD and get an adaptor for it and put music on that and then plug the SD into your phone its alot easyer and faster than useing the cord
you might have damaged files on your sd and that is probably causeing the malfunction in which your phone shuts off so if you download from a new site you should be good or get a new sd it might be faulty
I had to get 2 sansa 250's as they both did that after feww hours all by their selves. No files were transfeder and was only using fm function. after calling factory they said to return to store or send to factory, maybe they could fix it? Took them both back and got a philips that worked great but when my computer unplugged itself, it crashed the device. Now no on function and restore will not work as the pc will not see player anymore. Nice devices!
will try support from manufact. but tried resetting w/battery out etc, with no success.
Suggest updating firmware as soon as connection is accepted to pc. Hope I helped.
