It might be cheaper to have the DVD player fixed then mess around trying to match it up.

SOURCE: Philips Home Theater Speaker Wire (can it be cut?)

Sure you can, Joel.

Put the speakers wherever they will go, and cut the wire from the speaker to whatever length you need to reach your wall terminals. Leave some slack so you can move the speakers if needed. Strip off whatever length of insulation you need to make the terminal connection. Note that the speaker wire will have some kind of polarity marking. There will be a colored stripe or other mark on the insulation, or the conductors themselves may be different colors (usually one wire is copper, and the other tinned so it's silver colored). It doesn't matter which you use for positive as long as you're consistent and use the same one for each speaker.

At the other end where the prewiring comes out for your home-theater system, splice the connector ends you cut off onto the installed wires, following the same polarity. I recommend using an appropriate size insulated **** splice to make the connection. The crimper and splices can be found at auto parts stores, Radio Shack or most hardware stores. It's quick, reliable and makes sure there are no bare wires to short out.

Plug the speakers into the system and you should be good to go. Whip up some popcorn and enjoy the show!

SOURCE: How to extend speaker cables of Philips MX6050D DVD Home Theater

Go down to your local RadioShack or any place that sells wire of any sorts (heck, even Walmart might carry it now) and ask them for speaker wire. I'm not sure what the impedance of this particular model is, but you should be able to find it printed on the back of the speakers, or in your user's manual. This guide will help you to identify what size speaker wires you need, that way when you go in looking for speaker wire, you'll at least sound like you know what you're doing.

There is a service manual for a Philips model 2500, but I am not certain it's the same model as yours, as it uses the HST letters before the number. You can look at that it's free.

I have misplaced by users manual in my recent move, And need to find out if specific speakers in the sound system can be adjusted.

What model? You WILL need the manual for more than that one question.
Go here and drill down to the model number you have...

WHERE TO BUY REMOTE CONTROL FOR PHILIPS HTS3565?

Here's the site for universal Philips remotes:

http://www.usa.philips.com/c/replacement-remotes/182940/cat/en/#filterState0=URC_REPLACEMENT_SU_US_CONSUMER%3Dtrue;tabState=0

You can choose different ones, and find the one you want. Make sure you click the Audio link under "Types of Device", so it can support your home theater. After you get the one you want, it allows you to find a store, or you can take the model number and look for it elsewhere.

I brought Home Theater PHILIPS HTS3565 but when I tried to play my file "AVI" it says codec is not supported but this file can be played in all of my device except PHILIPS. I have already...

Greetings - Your home theater setup will not play xvid or mpeg 4 files. The formats supported are MPG 1 and 2, Divx, and WMV .

If you'd like to view any .AVI or .MP4 files you would have to use a computer and re-encode them to a compatible format.

You will find a list of the software and links to download (much of it free) tools HERE that you can use to convert video to a compatible format (MPG2 is always a good safe format that plays on anything).

Good Luck,

This systems speakers and remote were donated to our Boys and Girls Club. We did not get the DVD player. Is there a way to get just a DVD player that will work with all the speakers?

You sort of have to stick with it or something like it from Panasonic.

Ask and ye shall receive. Here's the electronic part and an iPod dock on eBay...

"Comes with ipod dock and remote as pictured if you cover extra shipping charges sub can be included but no speakers comes with connectors to connect speakers to unit."

I have the home theater system model HTS3440/37. I've had this for a couple of years, and now all of a sudden, it won't read any discs. It comes up after a couple of seconds and says "No Disc"....

Well, let's see.

A) A whole used HTS3440 is available on eBay for $102 delivered.
http://cgi.ebay.com/Philips-HTS-3440-Home-Theater-System-/150532939141?pt=Home_Theater_in_a_Box&hash=item230c765d85

B) A compatible HTS3450 base unit goes for $79 delivered...

C) Connect a new or existing outboard DVD/BluRay player to it.

Proprietary connectors usually imply proprietary function. Home Theater in a Box runs that way and are typically Not Economically Repairable.

Though it may be possible to construct cabling that adapts 'normal' standardized audio to your HTIB speakers, is it really worth it?

I'd got with option C as it would be a better investment in equipment with longevity and forward compatibility.
