The beeping sound means that a pci card or a stick of ram has come loose. What you need to di is open up the side of your pc tower and firmly press down on the pci cards and ram to make sure there secured and then put side back on pc and start pc back up to see if noise has gone. Hope this helps and thanks for using Fixya.

I would like to qualify the beeping as a signal of WHAT is wrong, and the type of beeps - such as 3 then a pause, indicate specific things that you should be able to find documentation on.

Among the codes I recall are things like "interrupt chip" problems (new motherboard) "no low memory available" (reseat the DIMMs); etc.

Do you see anything on the monitor screen? Does the tower make any beeping noise or clicking noise, or does the fan tries to start up when you power the computer on? Are the cables connected properly?
If you see anything on the monitor screen, or if you hear a beeping sound, let us know so we can diagnose further.

No sound beep in my Pc,when i turn it on

if you comp is not booting up, even to the first screen(bios), unplug the computer, remove all hardware installed on the board, hard drive, cd/dvd rom, ram chips, display card, network cards and anything else you may have except the processor. find the two pins that say "clear cmos" move the jumper to the clear position, usualy indicated on the board. Leave it there for 5 seconds then put it back the way it was. Your computer may try to start up but give error codes (beeps) because of no ram and no bootable device. If this is the case, one of your hardware devices is bad. Install them back one by one untill your computer stops trying to start indicating the last thing you put in is bad. When you get to the ram do one slot, then another, you may have bad ram chip or bad slot, doubtfull that is the problem though. If your computer still does not try to start with everything out, remove the board from the case, leaving the power supply hooked up, and set it on cardboard or something not conductive. If it starts then, inspect the board for a short to ground somewhere or just replace it. If it still does not start up, replace your board. Good luck and let me know what you find.

Aopen ax34 tamper alarm--how to reset????

I don't think that board actually has a tamper alarm in the bios, password security yes but I saw no mention of a tamper alarm. Besides, a tamper alarm won't stop the pc from booting, it just lets you know that the case has been opened....sorry. I think you likely have a mainboard/ram issue.

First thing is to clear the bios. Here's how. Right beside the floppy connector, there is a jumper labeled 'JP14'. Please do the following

  1. Turn off the pc and remove the ac power cord.
  2. Remove the atx power connector from the mainboard (from power supply).
  3. Locate jp14 and move the jumper from pins 1 and 2 to pins 2 and 3. Wait 10 seconds.
  4. Put jp14 back to pins 1 and 2
  5. Reconnect the atx power connector.
Or you can just unplug it from the waal and remove the bios battery for an hour.
sa code
Try to fire it up again. If it still won't boot, then let me know the number of beeps it makes and the pattern to the beeps ie: one long beep then another long beep or 1 long beep then 2 short ones. These beep are actually telling you what the problem is.

Hope this helps! Post a comment and let me know how you make out.
