I am trying to connect my new wifi ext bt600 with no wps button on my router

Since your router does not have a WPS button, it is likely it uses a 9-digit pin number for WPS. The pin number should be on a sticker on the router or maybe in the router's setup guide.

Router 8 digit pin number

You need to make sure the password you are entering is entered correctly. Check for upper and lower case letters and to check it you should be able to find it on the underside of the router.

Configure Home Network- 8 digit PIN?

There are two ways of finding it:
1st - Check the sticker or box of router. You can find it near the serial number or mac address written. It is mentioned as PIN Number.
2nd - Login in the router page with default password and you can find it on settings page.

Where is the 8 digit pin located on the modem in order to set up a wireless connection?

Hi, the 8 digit pin is indicated on the serial sticker of the router. Just look at the bottom part of the router. and you should see the pin numbers.

The 8 pin number will be written on the router itself, usually near the serial/product number.

My network setup is asking for a pin number that is on my router. Obviously there is no pin number for this particular router and my network is asking for a 4 or 8 digit number. What do I do?

If its asking for a pin number I would check the sticker on the bottom of the router. it may have the router PIN you are looking for. If not trying typing in your internet browser address bar 192.168.1.1 and find the network settings and see if there is a pin set up, if so write it down or clear it to have no PIN

Well the PIN number is Usually on the router itself on the back side and its a 8 digit number if that works well and good. Open an Internet Explorer browser page on your wired computer(desktop). In the address bar type - http://192.168.1.1 and press Enter... Leave Username blank & in Password use admin in lower case...8 Dec 2011

When you say, "IT is asking for..." exactly what is "it?"
It sounds to me like you have a Linksys wireless interface (possibly USB) on your PC which assumes it is going to connect to a Linksys router, which would have that PIN code on it... but you don't own a Linksys router and therefore the whole PIN code protocol is futile.
Bypass the proprietary PIN code nonsense and enter the WEP or WPA password the installer gave you (if any; it's possible he didn't set any) to connect to your access point from your PC.

Router asks for some kind of pin...

I have never heard of such. Sound like your computer is tring to get you to enter the WEP key or Passphase to access the router.
If you don't have a WEP key or Passphase setup on the router then you should just be able to click "ok" or "enter" (with the field blank) and bypass this screen.

Also check your network properties on the computer that is giving you trouble. Open your network connection, right click your wireless connection and click on "properties". Check the tabs and make sure you don't have WEP or secure network highlighted in one of the check boxes.
