Question about LG Dishwashers

1 Answer

I believe there are counter weights on the main door that allow you to open the door a few inches. Mine will only open the the full [down] open position. What typically goes wrong and how do I fix it? Also there is a streak of sopa leading from the rinse aid fill location. Where do I look to find parts. One of the plastic spacers on the handle broke.

Most of my exprience has been that there is a pully/spring arrangement for the door tension. You'll have to pull your D/W out far enough to see and adjust.

Have a chamberlain 132c2105-4 u it. Door moves up a few inches and down a few inches. Have played with limits and travel and sensitivities but can't get it to travel further. Help. Gordon

The chamberlain garage door openers have a label with the model number close to the light bulbs. The number you gave is the number of a label. Also, the "PART NO:" is just the receiver board part number.
Pull the cord to release the opener and check the full travel of the garage door. If it binds or catches, that might be stopping the opener from working. If that's not the problem, check the main gear by unplugging the opener and removing the shell. Then plug it back in and see if the gear contacting the worm gear on the motor shaft slips. That is the most likely worn part that needs replacing.

Granddaughter stuck wooden pastry brush in dishwasher in door opener. How do we get out.

She was just trying to help!!
  • Assuming it is the main door and not the detergent dispenser door,
  • Carefully remove screws securing washer under the counter. They will be above the main door screwed directly into the underside of the counter. I would expect only two.
  • Check to see if the machine is free. If so provide some protection under the feet as you pull as not to mare/scratch the floor. You can only lift it a little. If it is to tight than you may have to remove the kick plate and screw in the feet to allow for the unit to slide out from under the counter.
  • Slide the machine out about 4 inches. You should be able to see the door hinge and spring mechanics. There are drain hose fill hose and power wire attached to machine but they should have at least 4" of slack to allow for access.
  • Cut the pastry brush out. Reinstall washer. Locate previous screw holes in counter and install screws into the holes .Do not over tighten the screws into the counter. Do not let them go into the counter to far and mess up the top of the counter.
Thank the granddaughter for all her help and that Santa will be here soon!!!

When opening door stops at 6 inches, If I help it it will rise. Have lubed everything and unlocked door and it runs both ways, but still after hooking door back on stops at 2 inches

You may need to adjust the springs. If the door is too heavy, the opener won't lift it. Every garage door has springs to counter the weight of the door. These springs need to be adjusted so the opener can open and close the door. Try for one-hand easy to open...

Zanussi rear counter weight screw mountings broken

If this is a GE top load washer, I have see it a few time's. You can go to your local hardware store and get 2 new 4 inch bolts and nut set. and reattach the counter weight. The old bolts were just screwed to the frame. With today's appliance's they use 1/32 to 1.16 sheet metal... it don't take much to strip that out.

Next time post brand and model number...make's it easier.

It sounds like your door springs are broken, at the top of the dishawasher you will find 2 screws that attatch it to the counter top, take them out and slide the dishwasher a few inches forward, this will allow you to see if your springs are broken. If so you can order new ones at w/ your model #

The door is very heavy when you open it. When you go to open the door it just drops straight down

Sounds like the retaining bracket has come loose on the side its is attached on the inside this is separate to the hinges at the bottom that hold the door on, does the bracket feel loose?

If so you may need a service its is difficult to get in to reattach unless you have done it before dont without at least one other person to help

2375 poulan chain saw brake is shot, how do I fix it?

You Likely by this time have resolved this. Mine messed up one day and I found a spring inside it. This spring wraps around the counter weights and pulls them together at idle speed, allowing the chain to stop, without stopping the motor. As you throttle it up and the RPM increases the spring allows the weights to push outward , engaging the chain. I have used mine without it, but I'm sure that would not be a recommended procedure, as the chain is always engaged, even when idling.
