Question about Bissell 1960-3 QuickSteamer Plus Upright Vacuum

Missing key part for proper function

I hope you can help!! I love this little steamer, it has worked amazingly well until my 13 year old got a hold of it to clean a spill. Apparently he was trying to figure out how to put the water in the fill tank and removed the lid and washer from the base of the fill tank (the little washer with hose is still there). He became flustered in not being able to figure it out and thinks he tossed it!! If at all possible, how do I go about getting a replacement part?

Probably. If it's not very old, try taking it back where you bought it. If it's still under warranty, claim warranty from the manufacturer.

Why is vax s7-a+steam mop steamer dripping water and cuts on and off

I managed to fix mine after a little effort. It was blocked well up in the nozzle into a small pinhole where the steam comes out of the 'small kettle' in the steam mop.
To fix:
  • take the blue side bit off by unscrewing the two small screws
  • Undo the screws inside (there are about 11)
  • Once these were undone there was two screws holding the nozzle cover.
  • After unscrewing these pull the nozzle cover of and scrape limescale from inside the small hole where the steam comes out
  • Put it all back together and it should work much better
You should only really do this if you are competent as there are lots of wires etc. and if your steam mop is not covered under warranty as messing around with it will void this.

Hope this helps :)

13 yr Electrlux.Cuts off if hose plugs in.Says Bag Full-bag empty

This sounds like the valve assembly (full bag control) is faulty or one ov the tubes is clogged. You will have to take it to the shop.

sounds like you have the plastic bodied canister. the controll valve inside is bad. I usually just disconnect those to avoid future problems. you may want to take the vacuum to a repair shop though becuase they are a pain to get apart and get back in one piece.

How to put automix piston back in place of a Bissell Power Steame

Called the Bissell Power Steamer customer service number and the CSR explained how to turn the water control knob counterclockwise 260 degrees until the automix piston grabbed hold. Worked like a charm. Thank you Bissell company.

Can't get the top unscrewed

I had the same problem. Mine had been stored for a year. We had to completely destroy the plastic cap. Once down to the metal underneath we did the boiling water thing. It didn't work at first so we tried it again. And then immediately after applying the boiling water we used ice water to make the metal contract. With pliers on the neck and pliers on the lid we were able to open it. But, I know my husband had to put some strength into it. Hope this helps you all!!!

Spotbot is leaking...

Mine constantly leaked as well but I found that if I remove the container will the solution in it after every use it doesn't leak anymore. I store my container (upright - nozzle face up) under the sink with my other cleaning products and when I need to use the machine I pull it back out, pop it in and clean.

Wet vacuum not sucking up water

Usually when these units don't pick up the water, there is a seal or gasket missing or out of place. But you have a years warranty on this, maybe you should take it to a warrenty shop and have it checked.
