sounds like the right track. it's almost midnight - too late to try it until morning.

now that you mention "air lock," before i started the engine and had turned on the water, i pressed the trigger of the sprayer and got a lot of air.

sincerely appreciate the advice, no matter the outcome. will come back tomorrow with results.

    regards,

Woobie Dog had the perfect solution. Air lock. Followed his advice and the washer works like of old! Great solution great advice. Problem is I can't seem to get back to the point where I can record that his solution solved the problem.

    Many thanks, Woobie Dog!

It sounds like an air lock. Try this: With the machine off, connect the hose to the washer and let it run for several minutes to get all of the air out of the hose, and to purge any air out of the pump. Shut off the water, and connect the high pressure hose, but not the gun. Let the water run for several minutes. stretch out the HP hose and make sure that the air is displaced. Shut off the water, connect the gun, and purge as before. Now crank it washer up. As quickly as safe to do so, open the trigger to keep water moving through the washer. It should come up on pressure very quickly. It is better during normal operation to keep water moving through the system. When I am through for a while, I shut down my washer, but leave the trigger depressed to allow the pump to stay full of water, and cool. This prevents further problems when I restart it.
Hope this was useful.

De nada. I had one that was sooo arbitrary; I even had to hold down the trigger to start it! But it would work...... I finally bought one that worked as advertised and it was much nicer to operate.....I still do the same things, though especially the air venting part and it really does help! Happy washing, --W/D--

Motor quits when pull trigger

It's the spark plug more than likely. If engine turns but won't stay running its more than likely spark plug. If that doesn't fix its the gas. Empty gas out get some fresh gas.

Does anyone have a answer as to why all of a sudden theres no water and presure coming out of my jet washer

If there is no water from you power washer it is because the is no water going in. Check fitting is connected properly. When you pull the trigger and the machine is not running you should get water coming out of the nozzle That shows that water from the tap is passing through the machine. As to no pressure that will be a fault in the regulator valve that is not reacting to the trigger setting and allowing the pump to build up pressure. It is still reading as if you haven't pulled the trigger

My Troy Bilt power washer (using Honda GCV160 engine) has no pressure coming from the pump. I checked the water flow, everything seems fine. I believe the pump needs oil added, however, I can't seem to...

I had a similar problem. Turns out I had left the hose disconnected and some sort of wasp built a paper type nest inside the washer tube that the hose connects to. I had to take the pump off and take apart and then cleaned it out with a screw driver. Not too easy to do but finally got it clean. Same thing happened with the hose.

So, if you haven't used it for awhile, check that there is no blockage in the hose or pump tubes. You might be able to blow it out with an air compressor.

New Troy-Bilt 3000 psi - Very Hard to Hot Start

When you run the unit and shut if off, release the pressure from the spray wand before trying to restart the engine. This built up pressure will cause it to be very hard to start as you have found out. If it does not start on the second pull release the pressure again. Another option is do do what I did on mine. I simply put a pull tie on the handle so I can pull the trigger back and use the pull tie to hold the trigger open. Make sure if you do this, that you remove the high pressure orifice from the end of the wand before attempting to start the engine. Otherwise the pressure will come on abruptly and could injure you or do property damage.

Motor seems to be locked up!!!!!!!!

It may be your engine, but it may also be the water pressure. Try this: Hold the trigger down while pulling the recoil starter. This acts as an unloader for the pressure washer, and may allow the engine to turn over. There is also an oil level in the pump as well as the engine. Check both levels.
Just a thought, but I've been there. Best regards, W/D
