My Husqvarna LGT 2554 deck hung up on high spot mowing. Turned off deck & mower pushed by hand. Engaged deck, started to mow, wound to stop. Belts fine. Pull up on knob to engage, you get nothing.

The engine runs but the blades do not engage? Make sure the wire connecting the electric clutch is still plugged in. If all is connected and the belt is really fine, there is a problem with either the electric clutch or PTO switch.

It sound like the PTO clutch has died.
Test your PTO clutch. It should have a resistance of 1.7 to 2.5 ohms.

I had just started cutting grass with my John Deere L120 riding mower when the blades stopped turning. I thought the belt had broke or come off so I pulled into my garage to investigate. I turned the mower...

You have several safety switches on your unit. The engine should not start if the PTO safety interlock is engaged. Be sure PTO switch is off.
If the sarter Does Not Work Or Will Not Turn Engine Brake pedal is not depressed.
or the PTO is engaged.
Battery terminals are corroded. or Fusible Link in starting circuit is blown - (Not likely unless bad wires) Here is a link to your wiring diagram (maybe your model)

Notice how the starting circuit goes through the brake pedal (must be depressed) and the PTO switch (must be disengaged) and that the PTO only works with operator present. Print that page while link still works.

PTO will not engage blades on riding mower. The

Using a test light or volt meter, check to see if you are getting a full 12 volts at the connector where the PTO plugs in. If no voltage present, locate the fuse for the PTO and check it, also check the PTO switch to see if it is working. You can turn on the ignition switch to the run position, don't start the engine, and turn the PTO switch on and off several times listening for a clicking sound. If you hear it clicking, have someone sit in the seat and start up the engine, while it is running, observe the PTO clutch and see if it spins when turned on and if the belt turns with it. If none of this works, post a follow up and include your Craftsman Model number. I will look it up and see if I can find anything else we might be missing

Husqvarna yth2448 pto switch kills motor/battery will not charge

you may hav a bad alt. problem with the mower dying when you engage the pto is most likley a bad sensor or wire unplugged on the seat sensor.the way it works is if the blades are turning and it dosent sense you being on the seat the mower shuts down.this has been standard on mowers for quite a few years now. it keeps the blades from cutting you up if you fall off the seat while mowing. as for charging i would try cleaning the battery connections and get the battery checked first.
