What do you need to do to fix the problem?
Sounds like a yes from where I'm sitting, your right on target, buying a new spark module will fix it.

That sounds like the spark modules.

SOURCE: Older Tappan range oven not lighting.

There is no way to light the oven manually. The gas valve will not open until the oven ignitor draws enough current. But replacing the ignitor will fix ya up.

I would do an online search for appliance parts (example = http://www.appliancepartspros.com/ ) ; contact them directly and inquire.

As well since Sears has this as a private label brand, I would contact the one closest to you and have the appliance manager locate the part for you.

Broken Ignitor module

Patricia, if you're talking about the oven igniter and it's rectangular in shape (not round) the part number is WB2X9998 and lists for about $40.00. This is an igniter built by GE, but is universal to all brands using this style igniter and is available at any local appliance part retailer. But, if your talking about a "spark module"... I'll need the full model number to help you further. (B0613 didn't show up in my data) Hint---> before removing an oven igniter, apply a few drops of dish washing liquid to the threads of the fasteners. This will act as a lubricant and allow the fasteners to be removed without stripping or hassle and (after the job is done) won't smell bad when you use your oven again.

It sounds like your ignition module is unable to prove flame for some reason. This could be caused by poor positioning of the flame sensor, a bad ground to the burner or to the ignition module. If the flame is not engulfing the flame sensor on the ignitor, the module will attempt to light three times and then lock out. Poor air flow or too much air flow through the burner compartment can blow the flame away from the ignitor as well. Hope this help

We are cranking up this BRAND NEW Vulcan flat top. Weh have the convection oven below up and running, but we can't even see a pilot light for the flat top. Advice anyone? Culinary-yours Chef Geir

older ovens have pilots but the newer machines are electronic ignition, there are ignitors in the oven and electrodes or ignitors on the top burners, when you turn the knob for the burner you should hear a clicking sound and see a spark around the burner, that's what lites the burner, the gas comes in and the spark ignites it,i don't know much about your machine but it can't be any different from other stoves.if none are sparking there should be a spark module in there or they could have separate modules,if you send the full model number i can look it up for you

Gas range won't ignite. We had PGE and come over

This sounds like a failed burner igniter, also called a spark module. These are pretty easy to replace since the module itself is located at the back of the stove under an access panel. The price is around 40 to 60 dollars. Lately it seems that these newer stoves have weaker spark modules. I see dead modules on models less than 2 years old, where it used to be more like 5 or more years on the older ones.

Where is pilot light exactly

If the model number you have this posted under is correct, your range (as well as most all modern ranges) does not have a pilot light. The range uses spark type igniters that are controlled by a spark module for the surface burners and a glow bar type igniter for the oven. The gas flow is controlled by a gas pressure regulator through a safety valve. You can view the burner lay-out for a Tappan range at the following link:

http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/getSubComp.pd?modelNumber=TGF303BWA&productCategoryId=0124002&brandId=1269&modelName=GAS-RANGE&diagramPageId=00002&componentDescription=BURNER&documentId=R0302024&backToLink=Return%20to%20Sub%20Components%20list

If the link does not work, go to searspartsdirect.com and type in your model number. Look under the "Burner" heading to view your range configuration. The spark module is listed a item 8, the surface igniters are listed as item 11A and the oven igniter is listed as item 19. If you need further assistance, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

All the stove top ignitiers work intermitantly.

If ALL the igniters are affected in the same way, I would suspect a spark module that is going bad. All the top igniters are the spark type and are fed by a spark module located either behind the bottom drawer or behind panel on the back of the range. Repairclinic.com carries the part for about $65. Just type in your COMPLETE model number in the Search menu and scroll through the pictorial list of parts for a "Spark Module". You can also try searspartsdirect.com. They also carry an inventory of parts for quite a few name brands. I hope this helps you. Please post back if you need further assistance.
