Question about Office Equipment & Supplies
Hello, just set up a remote desktop connection. But when connecting remotely, remote connection cannot detect the local printer.(Canon LBP2900 and Samsung ML-2240) Both printers are shared. Other LPT printers are detected.
I'm using windows server 2008 and the client is using windows xp home SP2.
Tried this, http://searchwarp.com/swa33459.html, but did not work for canon and samsung.
Tried this, http://www.vistax64.com/vista-print-fax-scan/143174-found-solution-having-canon-printers-compatible-microsofts-remote-desktop.html, but when browsing for printer under tsclient, no printer was detected.
We also had the same problem with Canon printer and then we found great solutionat http://terminalworks.com/remote-desktop-printing. working great, low pricean no problems anymore. hope it helps

Hello my friend, regarding on your problem kindly check your system particularly your windows 2008 server OS. Kind reinstall the printer drivers then then shared it. Then after you share the printers kindly check the ip address of your windows server 2008 OS then go to the workstation Computer then click start button found in your task bar manager then click run. Then kindly type the "\\IP of your windows server 2008" where your printer drivers installed then enter. As soon as you can log in the Windows server 2008 menu environment then if you can find or see the printer icon then click the printers icon then right click then click connect. Let the system automatically installed the printer driver to your workstation computer. then as soon as your system finished installed the printer drivers then try to run and print if you can now print using network LAN.
Hope this solution able to solve your problem. If you need more assistance kindly rely to this post.
