Question about Toshiba TDP-S8 Multimedia Projector
My TDP-T9 had the same symptoms. A 3300uF 10V electrolytic cap in the power supply (Liteon) unit was domed up, so I replaced it with a high-spec 2200uF 16V cap costing three dollars. The re-flow solder on the board was damn hard to melt though, needed 400°C setting on the soldering iron.

The power supply is bad and needs replacing. the capacitors dry out after a while on this model.
