Re: vista faxing programs

This site claims that you can send free mobil faxes through them.

I don't know if it works, but it sounds like it should.

I am using Windows vista. My default printer is a HP8500 Pro. When i try to print pictures it always sends them to the 8500 Pro fax. How can i solve this?

your 8500 Pro Fax is set as your default printer. To change this go to Printers and Faxes and right click on your 8500 printer and select "make this my default printer" then any printing you do wil go to your printer and not the fax

I can't send a fax from my vista program with out printing out the fax first and sending it the old way, and that waste paper. in the xp or word 2003 I can go to the send in the file and the fax wizzard...

You need to go to printers and choose 'add a printer'. Under add printer, choose the printer called "MS FAX." That will install microsoft fax as a printer. Next, print your document by going to File, Print... (make sure it says "PRINT..." then you should see a selection screen, choose ms fax, and there you go. That should do it.

Have windows xp. how do i download a e-mail file to a cd

What mail program are you using? If you are using Outlook, go the following.

For XP: C:\Documents & Settings\(Current User\Application Data\Microsoft\(Office Version)\Outlook\(file.pst)

For Vista: C:\Users\(Current User)\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\(file.pst)

Right click on the file, and click send to CD/DVD+RW

Insert CD/DVD into Drive and than burn to CD

How do I fax from Writter??? I have a HP Officejet J5780 that fax hard copy just fine, but want to fax right from the word processor. I am using Vista Home os.

Sending Faxes and Configuring for Faxing
To send a fax directly from, you need a fax modem and a fax driver that allows applications to communicate with the fax modem.
Sending a Fax Through the Print Dialog
1. Open the Print dialog by choosing File - Print and select the fax driver in the Name list box.
2. Clicking OK opens the dialog for your fax driver, where you can select the fax recipient.

Configuring a Fax Icon
You can configure so that a single click on an icon automatically sends the current document as a fax:
1. Choose Tools - Options - Writer - Print.
2. Select the fax driver from the Fax list box and click OK.
3. Click the arrow icon at the end of the Standard bar. In the drop-down menu, choose Customize.
The Toolbars tab page of the Customize dialog appears.
4. Click Add Commands.
5. Select the “Documents” category, then select the “Send Default Fax” command.
6. Click Add and then Close.
7. On the Toolbars tab page, click the down arrow button to position the new icon where you want it. Click OK.
Your Standard bar now has a new icon to send the current document as a fax.

Need to setup windows xp faxing

Since you donot have the windows xp cd , you would not be able to enable the fax feature in windows xp home edition.
Alternatively you can download a fax program from the interent and configure the same to send faxes.

One such porgram is called snappy fax, can be downloaded from the link below

How to send fax from pc using windows vista home premium edition

I assume that your computer has a modem installed & properly configured.

Then, after using MS Word to edit the document to be faxed,
click FILE and click PRINT and select the FAX from the list of available "printers".

You'll be prompted to enter the telephone-number of the FAX-machine that is to receive the FAX.

As far as i know, win fax is not compatible with Vista.

Its better to uninstall the program.

Also if you want to install the software my recommendation is :

After weeks of investigation I found a software that does the same & more functions than the win fax so i downloaded the free version of Active-Fax.

Especially if you have ISDN modem, as I do, this software is far better.

You can download it rom the link below :

First you try with this key :

The license for one user is free and the key to enter during installation is 10025-49480

To start the installation of ActFax, run the setup program from the download area (file actfax_setup_en.exe).

When running the installation from a CD-ROM, the setup is automatically started when you insert the CD.

To install the trial version of ActFax, enter the license key 00000-00000 in the setup.

The trial version has no limitations and all functions are available (a small demoversion watermark is printed at the end of each fax page in that case then).

And the best of everything is that when you customize the software and you want to keep the settings in case you want to format your drive or install it on another computer, you copy all files of C:\Program Files\ActiveFax to the same location in your new computer and reinstall.

All your settings and faxes are preserved.

Good Luck.

Live, Love, Laugh.
