Looks like there is a mismatch in the connections.

You will need a cable box/set-top box with this TV. Contact your cable TV provider for this.
It does not have a direct RF connection, only AV connections.
For Cable TV support you can use

• Composite video (single RCA connector)
• SVideo (round 4 pin connector)
• Component Connectors (3 RCA connecters red/green/blu)

Component will give you the highest quality signal (as long has the cable box supports this connection) You will also need to connect the Audio connectors (red/white RCA) from the cable box to the TV as well.

plug the svideo cable from the laptop to the tv and change the resolution on your computer to match that of your tv you might also need to change the settings on the tv to svideo input signal so the tv knows

Ok based on the little info you gave you may need to place the cable from the dish box into the ant 2 connection on the tv, that is the analog cable connection, ant 1 is for digital tv only, also if you have rca jacks you need to change the source on the tv to av or svideo.

The most common problem is that the tv dont understand the s-video signal. You can try to change the signal input on the tv to s-video, but it will only work if your tv support's it. I have a s-video to scart but I dont get any collours because my tv can't understand the signal. My solution tip for you are: Get a tv that you are shure can understand the s-video signal.

If it has an svideo plug on the back you can use a svideo cord to connect into a tv's svideo input. if not it won;t connect to a tv.

Depending on what source you are using, this is possible. Most digital sources are set and cant be changed by the tv leaving black bars. Though video, svideo and component should allow multiple masking and cropping modes to strech the picture.
