uninstall your anti-virus or port-monitoring software, you can put it back whether or not that fixes it; but I've seen this before a few times and that was the cause...something in the AV protection broke.

Ice maker not making ice, refrigerator is about 8 years old and has been disconnected for about 2 weeks, transported to new location and then reconnected to electricity and water. Water is flowing through...

Hi,

Might be a valve from a watercircuit that's stuck,
or, if related to or caused by the transport a circuit has been damaged or something inside broke off/ got disconnected.
i advise you to contact a local tecnician to have him check it out and locate where it might be blocked or similar...

I hope this is useful, and greets,

Olivier.

Generic problem for all Vacuums
The rubber band that turns

The rubber band that turns the roller on the vacuum keeps breaking. I just bought a new rubber band, put it on, and it broke immediately. Can it be fixed?

I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
I see there could be 2 problems – either your revolving brush has hair or thread buildup in the ends of the brushroll of which is causing the belt to break and would need to be cleaned out, or check the bearings on each end – they could be **** as well, or the motor shaft or motor assm is not tuning freely and in that case the motor should be replaced and it is not the belt – one other thing is to make sure the motor is in there securely. Once you get the belt on then roll the pulley and the belt together to make sure the belt is on correctly if the brushroll spins freely.
