Daughter opened battery area under water accidentally. dried it. red light at battery flashing. Can it be fixed??

The good news is, the flashing red light on your camera means that the camera itself did not short-circuit and still may work. If it's flashing red next to a battery logo or it is a flashing battery logo that could indicate that the battery itself is fried and you would need to purchase a new battery. You can find camera batteries for cheap on websites such as

Try placing your Ipod in a large bowl of uncooked dry rice for 24-48 hrs. Then plug it in to see if this will allow you to use it again.

I dropped my iphone 3gs into water the other day. Now it cannot get pass the white apple logo. I restore the phone in DFU mode and update the firmware to 3.1.2. It started up fine for a while and I was...

Did you try to dry it up. Please remove the battery and the back cover and use your hairdryer on it without heat for sometime. When you are sure it has dried up from inside, dry some more. The insert the battery and put the back cover on and then after crossing your fingers, power on.

Nokia N76 flashing screen

Hey my mom had this phone and she dropped it in a bucket of water and she experienced the same problem. I had an e8 on which i dropped coffee and had my phone randomly going to some applications and just flickering. Notice I said HAD.
Now if i have to say one thing it's....RUN TO THE SERVICE CENTRE. Don't sit and dry it it won't help. At the most it's going to delay the inevitable. Go to the Nokia service centre or any really good service centre and tell them your phone's experienced water/liquid damage. The only fortunate thing is that you have a nokia which is easier to fix than any other manufacturer. They'll have to open up your phone and then dry it and remove every last drop of water because your phone will rust from within if thats not done. The worst part here is that it'll take a week or two to happen. Just when you think you can't believe your phone actually made it through this and can't believe your luck your phone is going to have a major breakdown. So trust me after having two phones spoilt by water damage i wanna tell you to go as fast as you can. Don't delay it or pretty soon you're gonna find yourself online asking which phone is a good choice to buy.

Dropped Ixus 50 in water...!

It may recover afeter drying. However, tap water is full of stuff thats not going to play nice. You are better off gettting a gallon of Distilled water. this is electrically non-conductive and leaves no residue when dried. take out the batts and flash memory and soak the thing for a few seconds. hopefully the tap water and drink have not fully dried and you may get some use back out of it. You need warm heat to dry it out, Place it near a heating vent, heater or other heat source. you can get it as hot as you stand to touch (they are good to about 120 degrees). and a fan for circulation may also help. keep drying for at least a day, even a sunlit spot indoors can help

If water entered the lens group or got on the sensor, you are not likely to be able to repair this camera. repair costs will likely exceed its replacement cost.

Good Luck

Emergency Download

you can take the battery and the back off the device and place in completely submerged in a bag of white rice and leave it in there for 1 to 2 days this will help absorb the moisture, this should fix it if the water did not damage the circut boards if the water damaged the circut boards then the device is fried
