If you have the second ignition key's with you try it.  If not try this, it takes about 30 min to do. 30-Minute Learn Procedure 1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF. 2. Attempt to start the engine, then release the key to ON; the vehicle will not start. 3. Observe the SECURITY tell tale light. After approximately 10 minutes, the light will turn OFF. 4. Turn OFF the ignition switch, and wait 5 seconds. 5. Repeat steps 1 through 4 - two more times - for a total of 3 cycles of 10 minutes. 3x10 = 30 minutes. The vehicle is now ready to relearn the Passlock Sensor Data Code and/or passwords on the next ignition switch turn from OFF to CRANK Important: Turn the Ignition Switch OFF. The vehicle learns the Passlock Sensor Data Code and/or password on the next ignition switch transition from OFF to CRANK. You must turn the ignition OFF before attempting to start the vehicle. 6. Start the engine. The vehicle has now learned the Passlock Sensor Data Code and/or password. 7. With a scan tool, clear any DTCs if needed. History DTCs will self clear after 100 ignition cycles. Without a scan tool you may have momentary starter interruptions while history clears itself. Good luck and hope this helps, keep me posted, be glad to help.

Is there an anti-lock switch on my 2005 dodge stratus

Sorry Debi , It does not work like that ! If the engine computer doesn't receive a signal from the anti-theft system , it wont let the car start . Could disable fuel , ignition , an sometimes it wont let the car crank over , There are bypass kits you can by , need to google it for your car. Other wise you'll lock up the system an it won't work .

Car wont start

Your passlock security system has gone bad, you need to have your ignition key lock assembly replaced ! This is very common for this type of car and can be done with a lil time and a lot of patients.

Have new ignition lock cylinder but car wont start

The lock cylinder only lets the key turn to enable the ignition switch. The only way the lock cylinder would prevent the car from starting is if it no logger turned or it was tied into the security system. What engine do you have and what are the symptoms? Can you hear the starter turning the engine over? Have you checked for fuel and spark? Is the battery charged? Etc.

Hi I own A 98 Chevy Malibu, my ignition locked n i had to put a new ignition switch in, well now my cars tellin me Something Theft Service. Im wonder what I need to do? Iv unhooked battery for hours ect...

You need to reset the theft system. To do this, try to start it. It should start and die. Then after it dies and the theft light is flashing, leave the key on for 10 minutes. After 10 min, the theft light should go out. After the theft light goes out, turn off the key. Count to 5, then restart it. Then it should work.

Security light on car wont start

Yea the car is in lock down mode. Something triggered the security system, and as a result, the computer engaged the ignition kill. Disconnecting the battery alone wont solve the problem. What I would suggest is call a local Chevy dealer and ask to talk to a technician, they know the procedure and can walk you throuogh it right over the phone.
