Question about Kenmore Dishwashers

Open Question

I have a small 18inch Kenmore dishwasher with a #P/N 154435701 inside the door. It will not fill with water on it's own. I fill it by hand then turn the knob to the wash cycle. The following fills work fine. Doesn't seem to respond to the first fill message from it's program. Is there a replacement card or chip?

One possibility is that the screen/filter to the wash units have become totally clogged. (I had this problem because of some particularly dirty water in the dishwasher.) To access the screen requires taking out the cover at the base of the dishwasher arm assemble which can be done without removing the machine, although you'll need a special screw spline screw driver. Given this the repair takes jsut five or ten minutes. Remove the screen clean it out in the sink and replace.

SOURCE: Dishwasher will not go thru wash cycles

if the water is not draining at all in any of the cycle it is probably the discharged line at the bottom of the pump has become blocked. there is an access panel at the bottom of the dishwasher which will allow you access the line. take the line off of the fitting , use a set of vise grips to remove the fitting from the base of the pump. You will probably find corn or rice lodged in the diaphragm within the fitting, remove debris and reinsert the fitting and hose. Hopefully this is helpful to you.

I have a Kenmore Dishwasher Quiet Guard 1 Model Number 665.1784440. It will not fill up with water, but it will drain if I pour water into it. Help

start simple, make sure water supply is ok. if this ok i would be lookin at the inlet valve, its solinoid could be faulty. located inside dishwasher where water hose screws on.

also on dishwashers a broken wire inside the door skin where wires loop into bottom would be fairly common.

Kenmore 665-15522, drained for winter and this spring, water coming out on inside left of dishwasher, is this a freeze plug of some sort, can it be replaced or fixed.

are you saying that the water is filling all the time,if so you have a bad water valve on the left hand side of the d/w behind the bottom panel, when you start the d/w the water fills on the left side but if it's filling on it's own water is weeping through the valve, change it out

I have a Kenmore 154435701 18 in dishwasher that makes a terrible whining noise before it starts working. What could the problem be?

Either a bad bearing or something in the pump or emaciator. It has to be disassembled to see what the problem is.

When we start our 18inch portable dishwasher clear water comes out from the bottom. what could be the reasons? thanks Jim

sounds like the seal under the motor has dried out or is damaged dishwasher must always have water in the bottom to keep the seal moist or they dry out and must be replaced the seal is located in the centre bottom of the dishwasher inside machine just above the motor

Kenmore 665.1736 fills with water but does not spray

Take thre drain hose off from disposal. Pour hot water down the hose until full. Cover end with hand. Press cancel/drain while holding hand over hose - over bucket. That may unstick checkvalve balls and or fix air lock. I have to do that every 6 months or so. Started happening 1 month out of warranty. Go figure. Not a fix - just a work-around...

My kenmore built in dishwasher is leaking out the front

change the door gasket. also check to see if the wall hasn't "sprung out" of position this will always cause leaks if the side walls aren't supported.

The fill valve is probably stuck in the full position. It's at the bottom of the tub and looks like a small tube with a cap on it. You should be able to move the cap up and down easily.

Kenmore Dishwasher 665.1671590 Leaking water at fill funnel.

Step1
Inspect the door gasket. As it ages, the gasket can crack or become hard, preventing it from sealing completely.
Step
2
If the gasket appears solid, adjust the door latch so the door seals tightly. Loosen the screw that holds the door latch to the cabinet. Push the latch in slightly and retighten the screw. Test the door and readjust the latch if necessary.
Step
3
Replace the gasket if water continues to leak after you've tightened the latch. Most gaskets are held by compression in a groove on the door or on the dishwasher cabinet.
Step
4
Pull the old gasket out of its groove, using adjustable pliers (see illustration). Take the gasket to an appliance store to get a replacement.
Step
5
Soak the new gasket in warm water to soften it, then press it into the groove. Start at the top, then work your way down the sides and across the bottom.
