Is there ice frozen in the icemaker ? If not , pour about 1/2 cup of water into it . If it dumps , then the problem is the water valve . If not , then the icemaker is bad .

The ice maker in my Whirlpool Gold (Model GI6FDRXXY07) stopped making ice. I can get water from the door and can hear the ice maker cycling. It is calling for water but the flow valve is not opening.

The same valve that the water comes from except there are two halves to the valve. The valve you need is a=> Whirlpool Refrigerator Water Inlet Valve WPW10312696 The problem is with these models the ice maker tends to function a little causing you to believe it is OK when they are worn out. I can point you to a manual to see if the water valve works by going to page 18 HERE and use a jumper wire between test point L and the letter V. Make sure the wire is insulated so you don't get shocked. Otherwise the ice maker may need to be changed and it is less expensive than the water control valve Ice Maker=> HERE

Icemaker makes lil ice cubes now could this mean the line is clogged?

Would not expect you to ask this question but yes you are right cajunboudoin, an obstructed water line by either a defective water control valve, water filter beyond its useful life or a crimped water supply line will cause the ice cubes to be small during drop of ice cubes into ice bin. Fact is with Whirlpool the water valve is set to remain open filling ice maker for around 7 seconds. If water is moving slow filling the time will be to slow for the flow, If anyone has a good question you do but I would always want everyone to provide their model number, Click Here=> Whirlpool Ice Maker Troubleshooting Thanks Sea Breeze

No water going to ice maker

Your inlet tube that goes to the icemaker may be frozen. To Check: Shut off water supply to Fridge, disconnect the water line that goes to the icemaker at top back. Use a flexible item to insert in the water line connection. I used a zip tie. If the flexible item won't all the through to the ice maker, the line is frozen. Thaw out the tube from inside the freezer with a hair dryer. Re-connect everything, you now have ice . . . Solution #2: You may have to replace your "Water Inlet Valve" located at bottom right rear of Fridge. Easy to do, just follow the color codes, be sure and shut off the water.

Model ER2CHMXPL00. Some of the water freeze on the

This is most likely caused because the defrost condensate drain below the evaporator is frozen over or blocked further down the drain line. You will need to remove the rear cover unplug the refrigerator and defrost the drain pan with a hair dryer until you ar able to pour water with a mixture of clorox and allow to flow to the pan below your refrigerator. I have more information on the link below. Click on the link and read the complete page and use the parts that refer to your leaking problem. Whirlpool icemaker not working

the refrigerator has a duel water valve, one for the ice-maker and one for the water dispenser. the valve that the ice-maker relies on may be bad, or it could be the ice-maker itself.
another thing that could cause it would be the temperatures in the freezer. the ice-maker will not call for water until it reaches under 15 degrees.
