Nope different model... the "BX" series is their Business line and it different.. however, Iu figured it out, so here is the secret for other victims of the SONY Rubik's Cube syndrome.
The operation is actually very simple, remove the batteryu, under the battery are 2 large diamter flat-head screws, you'll need a very fine phillips drive to ge them out.
Then, back on the top side again, about 2 inches below the display's hinges, are two (one on either side of the machine) square rubber plugs that appear to be part of a display bezel bumper.. peel those off, there is ascrew under each. Remove the screw, and then pop off the bezel section just above the keyboard.. that exposes the three screws that hold the keyboard in place.
    Replace as needed.

Yeah it's in and running... a Windows7 machine is born.
Hope my instructions can be found by others to help them out.

How to replace keyboard on sony vgn-nr498e, broken left hand shift key, i need to replace entire keyboard

If you have the new keyboard, look at the bottom and locate the screw sockets. On the laptop at the bottom, match and locate the approximate location of where each screws are mounted. Remove only those screw. On some laptops, you might need to remove the keyboard top frame - if they are mounted with screws, remove them as well. Some laptops have a small picture or symbol of a keyboard for each screw that needs to be removed on the bottom of the laptop.

Whats the Boot key for Installing windows on the Sony laptop?

Look at POST screen durinf startup, to get to it you may have to hit Escape, to have time to read, hit Pause/Break. Most probably some combo, say Ctrl or Alt + some of the higher number function keys.

Replace keyboard Sony

Hi..

I will provide you a solution this solution are very useful with you. You can do it with your self to follow this instructions. There are some image on how to replace the keyboard.

These instructions will help you to remove and replace keyboards on various laptops. I will not be able to cover all models but you’ll get the idea. Steps for removing and replacing the keyboard are similar for most laptops.
Warning!
- if your laptop is still covered by the manufacturer’s warranty, do not open the case or you can loose the warranty
- always remove the battery and unplug the AC adapter before you open the laptop case
- if you damage the keyboard connector on the motherboard you’ll have to replace the whole motherboard
- proceed on your own risk
Sony laptop
I took these pictures from a Sony Vaio PCG-K33 (model PCG-9S1L) notebook. Should be similar for some other Sony notebooks too.
sony-keyboard-1.jpg Insert a small flathead screwdriver under the keyboard bezel and carefully lift it up. Continue releasing plastic latches and removing the keyboard bezel with your fingers.
sony-keyboard-2.jpg
Be careful, on some models the bezel might be connected to the motherboard as it shown on the picture above. If you accidentally pulled the cable, connect it back. It is not necessary to disconnect the keyboard bezel from the motherboard in order to remove and replace the keyboard, just put it aside so you can access the keyboard screws.
sony-keyboard-3.jpg Remove three (or more) screws from the top of the keyboard. Carefully lift up the keyboard from the laptop case.
sony-keyboard-4.jpg The keyboard connects to the motherboard via a flat ribbon cable. Before you pull the cable from the connector, you’ll have to unlock the connector.
sony-keyboard-5.jpg The image above illustrates how to unlock the keyboard connector. Carefully move the connector lock 2-3 millimeters up and after that pull the keyboard cable. To install the keyboard, follow the above mentioned steps in the reverse order.
Toshiba laptop
The following pictures were taken from a Toshiba Satellite A135 laptop. The keyboard removal instructions will be almost the same for most modern Toshiba laptops.
toshiba-keyboard-1.jpg The keyboard bezel removal procedure is similar to the above mentioned Sony Vaio laptop. Lift it up with a small screwdriver and remove using fingers. On most Toshiba laptops the keyboard bezel doesn’t have any circuit board underneath, it’s just a piece of plastic and you don’t have to worry about cables.
toshiba-keyboard-2.jpg After the bezel is removed you get an access to the keyboard screws. Remove two (or more) screws. Release the plastic latch pointed with the red arrow and lift up the keyboard. Carefully put the keyboard aside so you can access the connector underneath the keyboard. Do not forget that the keyboard is still connected to the motherboard.
toshiba-keyboard-3.jpg Before you remove the keyboard, you’ll have to open the connector and release the flat ribbon cable.
toshiba-keyboard-4.jpg Here’s a closeup picture of the keyboard connector on the motherboard. Be careful, this type of connector is fragile. On the left image the connector is closed. On the right image the connector is opened. Unlock the connector by moving the lock up as it shown on the right image and after that release the ribbon cable. Remove and replace the keyboard. For assembly instructions follow all the steps in the reverse order.

Hope it is helpful for you!

Thanks for using Fixya

I need to replace the keyboard on my sony VGN-ar630e laptop. How do I go about it?

Pop the little cover plate from just above the keyboard. You might have to remove a couple of screws that are located in the battery compartment. Once you get the cover plate off, there are 3 or 4 screws holding the keyboard in. Remove screws, and carefully unplug the ribbon cable. Install new, and you are on your way.

Good Luck
