Question about Standard (CRT) Televisions
I have a big Sony that blinks 6 times..etc. I've been on enough forums to see that I can remove the D board...bla bla bla.......& there are several options for repair (send it off...or buy IC's off of ebay and fix myself.... I'm an engineer and can fix about anything).
I'm would like to start off right and don't see an obvious way to get the back off the TV except to start removing all the screws, etc.
How should this be done...should I lay the TV forward on it's screen?
Any advice would be helpful.
Yes you can take the back off and could probably do your tv a favour by blowing(carefully) the two inch layer of dust that sony tv's tend to gather,(if done regularly, it would stop these problems from happening in the first place)..... dont take the back off till you have allowed a 12 hour discharge period(thats unplugged) and if your an engineer then you can follow the screws that apply to the back and go over the top of the inlets.... then just tilt it forward when your ready to pull it off..... happy fixing....
