Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

Just opened for the first time a brand new Canon Pixma MP810. Been sitting in the box at my parents house for over a year unused. They said I could take it. Plugged in for the first time. Powered on, get a grinding noise, looks like the belt that moves the scanner under the glass, is stuck and won't travel. Also the scanner looks like it may be off track. Its at an angle, with the bottom corner all the way to the left while the top is halfway across the glass.

    Forgot to tell you.............

I already had it switched to the unlock position. After it continues with the grinding for about 30 seconds (looks like the grinding is occuring because the wheel that is supposed to move the belt is just spinning and the belt won't move) I get an error msg of 5020. Canon is telling me they'll replace it with a refurb if its with a year. However this isn't the case. As mentioned previously, its been sitting around for over a year. Wondering if there's somewhere I can find a way to open up the unit and see if I can line it back up. Some sort of repair manual that would show me how to open it up. I can't get to the screws because the support underneath also restircts it from lifting all the way up.

I kind of assumed that there is an issue with the scanner. Im quite not sure about what exactly is the problem. Is it not scanning?

Anyway assuming the scanner is not functioning.
Turn on the system
There is a switch called as scanner lock switch . Slide the switch to release position.
Turn off the machine.
Turn it on after 2 minutes.

Try to place the film guide provided with the machine in the right position on the planten glass.
Please look into the manual for placing the film. Guess it is page 37. If you don not have the guide then click on the following link

and choose the pdf file.

Kindly comment and we shall troubleshoot further.

If you have a sticker asking you not to dismantle then I would advice you to call the technical support. They would help you walk through step by step removal process and also have a log of the same so that you recieve support from them any time later.

I'm fearing that if we try to remove the same then it might void warranty or any support from them.

Canon mp810 is not printing correctly

Brand new cartridge or refilled one? If refilled cartridge, just wait for 30 minutes after refilling and use good quality of ink. It's caused by bad ink flow. While ink spray (bubbling) form head, ink at ink tank not flow to head.

How do I remove the print head from my Canon MP810 printer for a clean? :o)

I just replaced my MP810 printer head. Procedure: open printer - remove ink cartridges - Pick up arm located on right side of cartridge holder- remove printer head by picking up by the cartridge slots. Place new printer head in holder - replace printer cartridges - press arm down and your done....However, the error message stays on and reset procedure doesn't remove it. Canon tech support said their solution (because of distance from canon support) is to replace MP810 with comparable printer, which came to $299 with 15% discount and free shipping. My solution, I’m checking out other printers.

Mp810 Canon error 6B00

Try the following : GO through the control panel and delete the printer completely. No try to install a new printer using the windows install. When it asked if you have the disk let uit find the install disk and install it . If this doesn;t now work. go back to the support website  and/ or the litature you have that came with the printer and see/ confirm that the windows version you are suing is the same as the one that yo have the install disk for. If not dowenload the correct driver from Canons web site.lf all that fails, since it is  new, return ikt for another.

How do I resolve Error U150 on Canon MP810?

have had a MP810 about 3 months. Recently I've been getting a U150 error message. My C tank is not lighting up and being recognised. When I open up and replace the tank the light comes on. Initially this allowed me to carry on printing but now I have a constant error message even after replacing the tank.
Is there a permanent solution to this annoying problem?
I would be grateful for any assistance.

MP810 paper jam

I bought a brand new canon with my first pc years ago and it was the first and last ia m afraid, it worked for two...yes two...print jobs, i had it a wee k then it just stopped and said a jam, but it turned out to be the paer sensor. Brand new and they had to swap it. Seems a big fault with these. However, the next one seemed to be ok, but i had occasional cartridge issues. I have never had an ounce of trouble with my lexmark apart from alittle toddler paperjam!!!
