Question about Remington HC-600 Hair Trimmer

Blades pull hair when cutting

Hello, I have a Remington hair trimmer which worked perfectly...until I took the blades off to clean the hair trimmings out of the trimmer. I put it back together, but, now it pulls hair instead of cutting smoothly. Does it need to be calibrated by a professional? If yes, is there a service shop in Portland, OR, or should I send it somewhere?

Just make sure the blades are aligned precisely and make sure it is well oiled. It should be oiled after every use. I use WD40

Using WD40 is too light of a oil plus WD40 is like a solvent, this actually dull the blade, Clipper oil is recommended for any hair clipper it stay on the blade longer and has a better lubrication.

What may be cause for trimmer's unusual noise?

Have you lubricated the blades? You can buy spray lube (Remington Shaver Saver) for this purpose.

How and where do I lube the blades

i don't have the exact same product as you but i do have an electric hair trimmer. instructions for mine: use mineral oil : spread a thin coat over the blades, turn it "on" for a few seconds, then reapply a second thin coat. wipe off any excess, what oil that is left behind is a very thin coating: perfect! do this every fourth time you use it.

I used the clippers to cut my dog... once finished I took it apart to clean out excess lubed parts and reassembled...I have done this many times before with no problems... I begin cutting and the blades...

Check your blade latch is working properly. If you took your clipper apart and your blades are not cutting it is one of 2 things. Your blade drive is not assembled properly or your blade latch is not holding the blade on the clipper. If you took your blade apart, check the blade alignment. The cutter blade needs to be slightly behind the comb blade.

My Remington PG-360 is all clogged up and I want to take apart the trimmer attachment head and clean it. I don't mind breaking it since it was like 30$ and lasted two years (pretty damn good for this...

Remove the trimmer head with a counter-clockwise quarter-twist then hold it under running warm water to clean from both the open back and the blade ends. Use an old toothbrush to clean the blades. Let dry before using. As mentioned above, its a good idea to oil lightly 1x month.

My clippers are no longer cutting. I took it apart today and cleaned out all the hair but I still can't get it to cut. I felt it and it's very sharp it's just not cutting any hair. I have been told it...

there is probably hair stuck between the cutters
remove the cutters from the clipper and you can push the top blade out from under the spring retainer making sure you keep the small plastic runner strip
clean the surfaces and using a flat bladed screw drive insert the blade under the spring and twist slightly to allow the top blade to slide back in
while it feels sharp , it is the sides of the cutter fingers that cut the hair ( like miniature guillotines) and those edges are easily worn off

Trimmer not working

the trimmer may be jammed with hair particles. clean the trimmer blades really good with an old toothbrush dipped in rubbing alcohol. you can also turn it on with the tip of the trimmer blade dipped in a shallow container of alcohol.
if your trimmer blade is sufficiently clean and still doesnt work, the rocker arm that moves the blade must be broken. Remington does not offer replacements for the trimmer part
