I have a microwave where I have changed 3 lights in the past 3 months. What can be the possible issue for this happening.

Defy DMO343 Microwave I was at Defy Upington but they don't have lights. I can't continue to pay R60 per bulb that does not even have a life span of 1 month.

SOURCE: Lightbulb no longers turns on!

They do this to avoid liability from your exposure to the instantly lethal voltages present in and generated by your microwave oven. For important safety and disassembly tips, search on Yahoo.com (not Google) for all this at once (copy & paste): microwave disassembly.txt safety.txt The oven must first be disconnected from the power line. The outer cover is held in place by several screws on the back and sides, then you lift up and back from the rear to remove it. You need to avoid the sharp metal edges on thge cover and inside the oven. Note there are also catches built into the top & sides of the cover which must be re-engaged upon reassembly, or the cooling efficiency will be compromised. Once the cover's off, if there's any chance you might come into contact with any of the high voltage connections, the high voltage capacitor should be discharged for safety's sake. Once the bulb is located, it can be unscrewed and replaced.

The turn table and fan are connected in series with the bulb,as you have mentioned that you have replaced bulb,so please check again for any loose contact on bulb holder or bulb continuity again.

The light bulb assembly (bulb and socket are all one piece) is part number
WB36X951.

It is located on the air duct assembly where the door switches are mounted.

You can see an exploded view diagram here.

You'll need to remove the outer cover (wrapper) to get to the bulb assembly.

Always unplug a microwave before removing or installing any bulbs.

See these links before proceeding:
http://www.microwavedisplay.com/safety.txt
http://www.microwavedisplay.com/disassembly.txt

The screws you need to remove should be pretty obvious, but a special driver (such as a T20H type or GTXH20-100) may be needed.

Be sure to put all the screws back in the right holes, since some may be special grounding screws.

If you're not able to find the bulb assembly at your local appliance parts store, you can order one here.

SOURCE: Light bulb burned out in microwave oven

Most likely you're going to have to dismount the microwave and remove the outside cover to get to the bulb. This is a fair amount of work but is not rocket science. I'm not famliar with your particular microwave, but it's probably that way. If it's any comfort to you, light bulbs are usually not covered by warranties or service contracts.

It won't hurt to run the microwave without a bulb.

Does the Defy dmo343 microwave oven have a fuse that can be replaced easily?

All fuses are internal unless used in the UK with a fused mains plug.
If the internal fuse blows, that usually means a serious problem with the oven.

I need help Defy Microwave Oven model DMO343 schematic diagram

I put you in the right Category and Edited your question.

Only authorised service engineers have schematics to microwave ovens. The reason is that they are extremely dangerous to work on, super high voltage held in the capacitor, the poisonous core of the magnetron and the ability of microwaves to make you blind in 5 seconds. The case is fastened with safety screws for a reason.

Contact the company and ask them for the schematic. Tell them you want to open it up and fix it.

Microwave model KHMS155LSS-3 turns self on

I had the same problem with the same model of KitchenAid Microwave. KitchenAid customer service will act like they never heard of the problem, although if you google it, you will find that this is a very common problem. Ask to be transferred to the safety department. After more than 6 months of complaining and several repair attempts (they replaced control panel and switches), KitchenAid finally gave me a full refund. This is a serious safety defect for which they have no fix. The product needs to be recalled, and I am willing to testify that KitchenAid was criminally negligent when this product finally causes a house fire and possibly serious injury or death.

3 microwave ovens in 18 months - all won't heat up - what is causing the recurring problem?

Carla, Sorry to read of your troubles. Your unit that is only 2monts old should be under warranty, or did you receive any warranty?
What you describe as " the noise one gets when metal is put in by mistake". The noise is Arcing of Microwave Energy. Do not operate a Microwave Oven DRY (without something inside that will absorb the Microwave Energy. A Dry-Run Microwave Oven will feed-back upon itself and do damage.

If your unit is matched to the electric needs, both voltage and cycles, then I would not get another one of the same Model.
