Question about IBM ThinkPad 600E 2645 Notebook
When you see the on off screen it means turn off you laptop by the switch wait about a second and then turn it back on by the switch. Then it will come on. Your cmos battery is dead. That is the little battery inside your computer that controls the date and settings memory

You need a new rtc or cmos battery turn the laptop over and look on the back it shows 2 small keyboards by 2 screws remove them turn the laptop back over and at the bottom of the keyboard either corner use a small screw driver to lift the keyboard out the battery is just above the touch pad unplug it and plug in new one reinstall keyboard boot up it will say same thing go into bios and set time and date save changes and reboot
