Question about Philips Magnavox MS3652S 36" TV

Open Question

My Magnavox MS3652S427, manufactured in Mexico in May 2004, fails to turn on. When I attempt to turn on the TV, the green indicator light on the front of the TV blinks and turns off. The tube never seems to get power to turn on. I'm assuming its a power supply problem, but have no idea on how to check this or change it out. Any ideas? SOURCE: We have an older Phillips Magnavox tv. The tv

Hello, the grey screen could be due to a missing 220Volt source which feeds the color (RBG cathodes)inside the CRT(picture tube). When this happens the beam current inside the CRT goes high in a matter of second, thus triggering the beam current protection circuit(blinking green light)shutting down the TV. Repairing the secondary voltage source is necessary to get the TV working normal, a good technician should be able to repair it for between 80 to 100 dollars parts included, except a picture tube, which could be also the cause of the problem(K-A shorts).

How many times this standby/power light blinks at one time switch ON? Count it carefully. These blinks are fault indication, and known as blinking codes. From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON; you can get an idea about the faulty circuit stage inside the TV. This will make repair easy. For more information google.com/+GopakumarGopalan

Turn tv on. green light solid display, no picture or sound

The flashing green light is likely indicative of a self-test failure, indicating the TV has detected some sort of internal fault. With no picture or sound, one strong suspect is the power supply. Flat-panel TV's have an internal DC power supply that converts the inbound AC current, and when these fail, or are unable to supply a minimum level of power to the set, it can behave as you describe, providing only enough power for the green light to illuminate.

Flashing green light

Did you try this yet

SYSTEM RESET
If the TV will not respond to either the remote control
or the front panel controls and/or will not power Off,
press the SYSTEM RESET button with a pointed item
like the end point of a paperclip. The TV will turn Off
and the TIMER light will flash quickly for about one
minute. When the TIMER light stops flashing, you may
turn on the TV again. Changes you made the last time
the TV was On before you used the SYSTEM RESET
button may be lost, however, the changes you made
previously are not lost.
POWER/TIMER Indicator
The green light is a multi-function indicator. This light
will flash rapidly for about one minute each time the TV
is plugged into the wall electrical outlet, when power
is restored after a power failure, or using the SYSTEM
RESET button. Do not attempt to turn on the TV again
during this period. Wait for the flashing to stop and
the light to turn off, before attempting to turn the TV
on. While the TV is powered on, the light illuminates
steadily. If the TV has been programmed to turn on
automatically using the Timer feature,
