Maintenance Kit Replaced on Ricoh Aficio AP610N-Now Won't Work

Our IT rep replaced the Maintenance Kit on 2 Ricoh Aficio AP610N printers. Now they both have an error that there is an internal paper jam when there isn't one.(Sorry, I can't recall the exact wording.) They said they tried everything even putting the old stuff back in it, but the error still showed. Another IT person was called in and said that the internal components were shot. I think that it is very odd that both printers worked before the maintenance kits were installed, and now they both have to be replaced. Does anyone have any advice?

The Alert on the printer states,"REMOVE MISFEED INTERNAL PATH" and then "OPEN FRONT COVER." There isn't a misfeed. I don't even think it is pulling the paper into it. It sounds like it starts to pull it and then displays the Alert.

Sorry,I'm new to the site. I should've posted my comments here. The exact Alert is "Remove Misfeed Internal Path" and then "Open Front Cover." There is no paper misfed in either printer. When a job is printed to them, they sound as if it is going to pull in the paper, stops and then displays the alert. Could a roller, etc. be in wrong? They went by the book in the Maintenance Kit.
    Thanks

If you cycle power does it try to feed then "jam"? This would be a misfeed, if "the internal parts are shot" could this be the ITB belt got damaged? All the main components of this model are supplies so repair isnt impossible. -Carl

m Check the paper drawer sep pad is it spring loaded and move up and down freely? The paper feed roll is unlocked by the lever on its left is it locked back (pushed to the right) ? If no paper moves at all check the feed roll take it out and put it back. hope this helps. -Carl

I found that opening up the left panel (2 screws) that the shaft that inserts into the paper feed roller was sticking out and not engaging the roller. Normally when changing the roller the shaft is slightly out until it turns and engages. Mine was out quite a bit further and not able to at that point. I pressed it in and turned it until the keyed side of the shaft fully engaged the roller. Works fine now.

Had the same issue where after replacing all the maintenance items the printer would give the error "Remove Misfeed Internal Path" even though no paper was being picked up. Following jwestonh's comments, opening up the left panel did the trick. Take out the 2 screws holding the left panel onto the Printer, pull off the panel and push in the shaft that re-engages the green lever that locks the paper roller in place. After that the printer was able to pick up paper once again. Thanks!

check the side brackets in the casete to make sure they are snug against the paper. or you may need to clean or replace the paper feed roller and seperation pad in the casete. or you may need the transport rolles cleand.
