I have a lg flat screen monitor, the words are blurred

Is it just the fonts that are blurry, or everything? If fonts only, then this almost certainly suggests that running the ClearType tuner again would solve the problem. But this applies to all displays, so if one is good and the other is not, then this isn't it.

If everything is a little blurry, then this suggests one of two problems -- the first, you report trying, which is that the display adapter is set to a different resolution than the native resolution of the LCD monitor itself. Your display adapter should probably be able to drive 2 monitors (the built-in laptop monitor and the external monitor) at once. You should be able to set their resolutions separately.

Assuming Windows XP: Start > Control Panel > Display > Settings > at which point, you should see two monitors listed in a dropdown. Set them to their native resolutions there (using the slider bar, usually all the way to the right), and save.

If you do have the display resolutions set to their native resolutions for both monitors, then it's possible that your external monitor is messed up. A quick test would be to run the on-screen settings, usually from a button on the monitor itself. If what is displayed there is sharp and what is displayed from Windows is not, then this points to a problem with the display driver. If everything, even the on-screen display is blurry, then perhaps the monitor settings are messed up -- usually there's an option to restore to factory settings -- try that.

Acer P223w blurred screen looks like it is moving

The only way you can fix this is by changing or altering the refresh rate of your monitor on the laptop. Right-click on the desktop and go to properties, the go to the settings tab, then Advanced tab, the go to the monitor tab. Make sure the refresh rate is the one the your monitor can display. Probably put 60Hz and then you can check the box that says Hide the modes that this monitor can not display. This should fix your problem. If it does not, go back to the desktop properties and got to the settings tab and change the colour quality to 32bit instead of 16bit and again you can play with the screen resolution

How do I set the resolution, screen posts a box saying for best results use 1680 x 1050@60HZ, how can I set this?

Hello,
In XP goto the control panel and click display. Select the Settings tab and move the screen resolution bar to the right until it says 1680x1050.
Vista should be similar to the XP instructions.
In windows 7 goto the control panel and click display. Select Adjust Resolution from the menu to the left. Now adjust the display setting to 1680x1050.

Not able to use full screen

Hello,
This sounds like bad resolution is set on your computer. The LG 22" FLATRON monitor has a native resolution of 1680 x 1050. However, your video card may not support this so you can also try any other 16:10 resolution like 1440 x 900.

To change your resolution in Windows XP:
1. Access the Control Panel.
2. Choose "Display".
3. Click the "Settings" tab.
4. Under "Screen resolution" move the slider to a 16:10 resolution like 1680 x 1050 or 1440 x 900.

If you computer does not support higher resolutions, you may consider replacing your video card to take full advantage of your nice 22" Flatron monitor.

If I can further assist you, please let me know.

Regards,
KYTechnology

I had to reinstall my Viewsonic monitor after getting a new hard drive. Now the screen shows everything is a horizontal stretched mode. How do I get it to normal aspect ratio?

It seems like the display resolution was not set to the optimal resolution for your monitor.

To correct this, follow this guide. I am assuming you have Windows XP.

1) Navigate to the Control Panel in Microsoft Windows by left-clicking on Start, followed by Settings and then choosing Control Panel.

2) In the Control Panel window, open Display.

Note:
In Microsoft Windows XP, depending on how your operating system is setup, you may not see the Display icon. To correct this, click on the link on the left-hand side of the Control Panel window that says Switch to Classic View.

3) In the Display Properties window, click on the Settings tab.

4) Slide the Screen resolution slider all the way to the right for your optimal resolution.

5) Click the OK or Apply button to confirm the changes. If prompted, follow any additional on screen directions.

NOTE: If the text appears too small, go back to step 4 and try a different position on the slider until you get it how you like it.

Good luck on solving your computer problem.

When the cursor is moved to the right or to the bottom of the screen, the entire view shifts left or up and a garbleb image aoppears.

If the screen picture moves then you have the wrong resolution set for your monitor and part of it is extending beyond the monitors capabilities. This is common if using a laptop.
Try going into you display properties on your computer and lower the resolution of the display.
If you search your monitor model, you should find the resolution that it is capable of.
1600x1024 may be the maximum. (not all video cards support all resolutions so you may have to choose another widescreen format)

Distorted images due to wide screen

Hi
Your entire desktop is probably stretched left to right.
You need to adjust the resolution of your computers video card in the display properties to one that the widescreen will accept correctly.
There is a chance that your video card may not have the correct resolutions available. If this is the case then you may be stuck with this view until you change coputers or video cards.
to get to display properties based on win2k or xp
Right click in the center of your desktop, choose properties, go to settings and there you should see the resolutions available. Try different ones till you find a good one, you may have to settle for one that is close to your monitors setup if the exact one isn't available.
If using a laptop with a standard screen with the wide monitor, you may need to disable the laptop screen and use just the monitor to get the correct resolution on the monitor.
