Sears carries a lot of Kenmore manuals, however, there is usually a fee. Have never seen one for no cost.

BTW--be sure to use jersey or stretch stitch needles (ball point) for knit fabrics. You probably should use either a zig-zag or stretch stitch so the threads don't "pop" when the fabric overstretches the thread.

search the internet for "sewing stretch fabric" or "sewing knits"

Free owners manual Kenmore, 10, 158.12511

All question need full 'make model (what it is).
You posted to the category 'Washing Machines', but it appears to be a Sewing Machine. I moved it to the correct category.

$5.95 is near enough 'Free'.

Sears, the makers of Kenmore, seems to think it is this one and it's free.

Where are the oil ports on an old Kenmore 10 sewing machine #12511..thanks

If your older Kenmore is mechanical (not computerized), it probably can use a bit of oiling beyond what the manual recommends. Older machines frequently were pre-oiled at the factory, however, after many years, the oil tends to dry out and cause the mechanical parts to stick (the reason most older machines are frozen). Perhaps this link will be of help:

It was working now it seems to be frozen the needle part wont move

Why is my brother ls2160 is sewing fine on cotton but not on the material I am using. Its a stretchy silky kind of material. What am i doing wrong?

You may need to use a walking foot with your machine as stretchy fabrics are hard for the feed dogs to 'grip' and pull the material through under the needle.... you will probably need to change needle as well... there should be a helpful video on YouTube that will tell u all about sewing with stretchy fabrics and how a 'walking foot' works... hope that helps.

I have a Kenmore model 11206, and lost the booklet. How do I find out a certain setting and/or type of thread when working with stretchy or flouncy material.

You can order a replacement manual online - sometimes at no charge. Try Sears first. Go into the section of their website for repair (manuals are considered as a "part") and get the email or number to contact them.
There is also a site I found that posts manuals free online but your model wasn't listed. They may be able to find one for you as they have an option to ask the membership for help:
http://homeappliance.manualsonline.com/manuals/device/sewing_machine.html

If they can't help you here are a couple of other websites that are selling them for $10 and appear to have your model:

How to stitch stretchy material on my Kenmore model 15202 sewing machine

Normally I would use a Q (blue needle) and some gift tissue paper. Hold both threads until you get going. I am not sure if just a ball point needle will do the same thing as the Q, which is a Sears product, or not. But it sure don't hurt to try it on a scrap piece of material and get the Q if you need it.
