Most likely your flame sensor needs to be cleaned with fine emory cloth.sensors sometime become oxidized or corroded. once burner ignites,if flame is not sensed signal is sent to shut down valve as a safety precaution

The pool filter won't turn on and the pressure switch on the heater is blinking

Thank you for posting your question here on Fixya.com.

There is not enough system pressure to close the heaters pressure switch so the heater will not fire or it may be the switch itself is bad but you should first check for system problems that will cause this light to come on.

Assuming your pump is on and any valves in your pipes are set correctly it means something is restricting water flow too much and needs to be cleaned to fix your flow rate and allow the heater to fire.

Start at the skimmer(s) baskets and then the pump strainer basket and finally clean your filter. If it is a sand filter backwash the thoroughly; if it's a cartridge or DE filter, clean it according to your manufacturer's direction. In some cases cleaning a cartridge filter will no longer satisfy heater pressure requirements meaning you will need to replace the element.

My heater keeps shutting off after about 30 seconds. I hit the reset button and it happens again. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Several thoughts on this heater Fuel delivery system, the fire eye sensor or dirty intake filter. These are the most common problems that I run in to with these heaters. Start by taking off the top half of the heater tube. Find the nozzle unscrew it and clean the screen in behind the nozzle, inspect the nozzle for corrosion or damage. If you see any restriction replace the nozzle pay attention to spray angle and GPH rating this is printed on the nozzle. They say you should not clean the nozzle because you can damage them, well carb cleaner q-tips and a tooth pick seem to work well and not cause damage. Locate the flame sensor these get a dirty lens and can shut down heaters as well. Try cleaning with windex and soft terry cloth rag, works wonderful.Back to fuel system inspect the fuel line look for holes dry rot or restrictions.Remove the screws on the side cover to expose the wiring and fuel line with filter to fuel tank. Remove the filter and clean it I use compressor and an air blow gun and blow backwards thru the filter cleans it right out.Inspect it and the lines reassemble and at the back opf the heater is a sponge type filter remove it. This is a foam filter wash it out, dry it real good put it back in and fire it up. Take your time pay attention to detail and this should help your ailing heater.

Rinnai tankless waterheater does not begin heating water as soon as tap is opened, why?

Not sure what you mean specifically. Obviously the heater takes a few seconds to go through pre-checks and will then light. It will then take a few seconds for warm water to reach the tap depending on how far the heater is from the tap. If it is actually taking a while for it to light you need to make sure you turn the tap on full. These heaters need good water flow to fire up. Check for any filters in the tap ware and ensure they are cleaned out. I often take these filters out as they cause nothing but trouble and block too easily.

I have a trouble code 11 on my Rinnai model 2532 water heater which indicates no ignition. I checked for gas supply by turning the furnace on which is approx. 1 ft. away, it works. The water heater is...

11 is a ignition failure code. Could be alot of things, I suggest calling a tech who has repaired these before. Pull the front cover off and have a helper turn on a hot water faucet. Look thru the viewing window to see if the unit is firing then going out. If not, clean out the water filter on the inlet side of the plumbing. You will need to turn off the water supply prior to cleaning it. If the unit fires but shuts off seconds after ignition, you may have a dirty or bad sensor. Call a proffessional at this point. Sorry

Try cleaning your filter if dirty there will not be enough flow to llet heater fire. If filters clean you can try jumping the pressure switch.
