Question about Miele 23 in. Novotronic G841 Built-In Dishwasher
I had problems with my Miele G 894 SC not draining, every other day or so, usually after the wash cycle (as opposed to the rinse). I tried using the recommended one tablespoon of soap, as sometimes too much soap is the problem. However I finally found a Miele who identified the problem over the phone. He said it was a common problem on models purchased around 2004-2006. There is a part on the bottom of the dishwasher that rotates and measures water as it comes into the machine. It becomes warped and won't rotate as often as it should. The machine "thinks" it is not getting enough water which causes the drain fault light to come on and shuts everything down. The part itself was around $80, plus the service call.

Try removing the pump cover in the sump to see if it is blocked or jammed. it tells you how to in the user manual.

you need to adjust the door tension springs which is by a screw each side of the hinges on the plinth of the unit at the front. There is a symbol of a spring to show you which screws to release. do them evenly and the door will not spring up,

most common faults with dishwashers is a drain fault. Check for any kinked hoses and check the drain spigot under the sink where the drain hose connects into the u bend. Usually this is where food gets trapped due to the spigot not being drilled out large enough. This then causes a blockage. Also check the non return valve under the filter and make sure the drain pump can turn freely.
Hope this helps.

Typically the machine only uses 5-6 quarts of water, If you're floor is getting 1 or 2 quarts check for a loosly connected intake or drain hose. I've never seen any overflow drain on a Miele. It only fills the bottom of the tub. The machine uses a logic program that continuously checks the level of fill and drain by water pressure weight so it always runs with proper amount, even if your intake pressure is weak. Now, If you add too much soap then the bubbles can carry a few ounces over a worn door seal. If the seal is damaged then more spray arm water can run down the front of the machine into the float pan. But after it gets less than a pint of water the drain float will start thr drain pump and shut-off the machine controls and alert you. It won't let you run the machine until the water ( and the problem) is gone. Call Miele for help.

what you need to do is slack off the spring tension on the door hinges. each side of the unit at the base on the plinth there is a screw with a spring symbol next to it. turn this anti clockwise to reduce the spring tension.
Hope this helps

hi, firstly check the filter in the waterproof system where the tap is to make sure it is not blocked. turn off the water and remove the connection with the white box attached this is the waterproof system. remove the black seal and you will see the filter. pull it out with a pair of pliers and clean it.
if this is ok check to see if you have a restrictor on the tap or inside the tap and also make sure water is flowing from the tap prior to reconnecting the waterproof system.
run the unit again and when it is time for the machine to call for water you can manually fill it and see if it works using a saucepan or bucket. if this works ok you may have a stuck waterproof system and probably need to replace this.
Hope this helps
