I began update. Phone is frozen on iTunes plug in screen

I began this update on my pc via iTunes. When I got error messages, I unplugged my phone, shut down my computer and saw I had 19 updates to my pc waiting. I couldn't wait so I left to catch my plane. Now I'm traveling and my phone screen is frozen on the 'plug into iTunes' prompt. I would rather update the phone wirelessly now, but I can't do anything to change that screen. Help!!

Well, I'm back from my trip and survived without my phone. Actually, I liked it, very liberating. I plugged my phone into my updated pc and finished the update. Everything is working just fine. Thank you so much. This is a great forum!

Try holding down your power button and home button at the same time for about 10 seconds. If that does not work, you could try to hold them both down for about 3 seconds then let go of the power button and continue to hold down the home button for about 7 seconds.

SOURCE: cannot update or download apps on iphone 3G

if every thing is fine with wi-fi then I would try to sign out of the itunes store on the iphone then sign back in

if that dose not work your going to have to restore

I know that mean you have to re-jail break but if there is a unsupported firmware you running then you goin to have to spend the extra time updating software again to fix the error your having.

SOURCE: Hi I have an iphone 3G 16G, Jailbroke it and

the iphone is solely locked to the att network and it appears that when you got your iphone at alower ios like 3.1.3 it was unlocked and jail broken, but now that you've updated you broke the unlock, thats what every update does, the good new is that currently there is a jailbreak out for the new software which you know already because you did it. the bad news is that there isn't a unlock for the 4.1.2 ios as yet, if this is you only phone my friend sorry to say but you screwed the pooch but if you have another phone that you can you for a couple of days/weeks then your ok.

My iPhone 5 was frozen. I forced a shut down and now cannot sign back in. When I touch the numbers, the phone does not read it.

Hello,
Try to restart the iPhone: Press and hold both power button and home button together until iPhone turns off and starts again (Apple logo appear on white screen). Release both buttons when you see the Apple logo. Let the phone boot up. It should be ok. If not,

You can update/restore your iPhone using iTunes installed on a Mac or Windows computer.

Steps to follow:
1. Please turn off the phone.
2. Press and hold the home button and connect the USB charging cable to your phone and to Mac/PC running iTunes.
3. When iTunes connect logo appear on iPhone screen, release the home button.
4. iTunes will detect your phone and prompt you to update/restore your phone.
5. Click on update.
6. Let iTunes download and install iOS update on your phone. It will prompt you once finished.

If the update is failed, iTunes will prompt you to restore (this process will erase all data from your iPhone), select restore and wait to finish.

After restore process is done, you may restore your iPhone backup (if you have backed up your iPhone before).

Hi,

Follow these steps to try and get your phone running - although I cant guarantee it is unlocked, you'll have to take it up with whom you bought the phone off but if they unlocked "jail broke" it themselves and not via their network which they where locked to then it is most likely the phones software is altered with and restoring it will make no difference....

Power up your computer & itunes & make sure you have updated your itunes then power down your iphone and follow the steps below!
  1. Hold down the home button and continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears you can release the Home button *** if this doesn't appear then release button and hold down again for around 6secs and then still holding the button plug into the computer***

    ht1808_02.jpg
  2. The above message will appear in iTunes
  3. Continue with the restore option and when you get the screen to setup the iphone select restore as new iphone
Like i said before, if who you bought the phone from unlocked it themselves then its most likely the software is affected within the phone

Cannot update or download apps on iphone 3G response says "Cannot connect to iTunes Store" had no problems first 9 months I owned phone...now this has been happenening for over a month. phone is jailbroken...

The problem with using a phone on another carrier is that even though it worked for a long period of time your current carrier updates information on there system and it may now have caught that you are using an unlocked phone on there service. This is not a bad thing but your applications may not work properly. You may also experience delayed voicemail and delayed text messaging because of this issue.

Frozen iphone it is frozen in the apple screen I've tried holding the on/off button, plugging it into the wall and computer plugging it into the ihome

press and hold the power button and the home button together for 10-15 seconds till you see an apple logo re appear on the screen. If that does not work, power down the phone, press and hold the home button and connect it to your computer. Once you see the message in iTunes that an iphone has been detected in recovery mode let go of the home button and restore your phone

Where did you purchase your phone? however, you first need to update itunes to 8.0.2, that might solve your problem. Unless you have an unlocked phone then restoring your phone is useless because when you restore an iphone with itunes in the US without an att sim card it will actually lock the phone, but I do not think that is your issue. the two things you are seeing the connect to itunes and the emergency call system means that your phone is not properly activated. which is done by connecting it to itunes.
