I have the same exact problem - when I power up, the green light comes on for a second, then goes off - and the red flashing light comes on.

There seems to be a pattern to the flashing red light. It goes: flash, pause, 4 flashes, pause, flash, pause, 4 flashes, pause, etc.

I'm wondering if the specific pattern is an indication of what the actual problem is. When I called the service center in my area that Philips suggested, the lady actually asked me if there was a pattern to the flashing - but, even though she specifically asked me that question, she wouldn't tell me what the flashing meant.

Does everyone with the "red flashing light" problem have the same pattern as the one above?

And, if swapping the fuses solves the problems, anyone have specific procedures for that? I'm not to bright when trying things like this.

I was going to turn on my tv and the red light appeared. Disconnected the TV with same results. First the green light appears for few seconds and then the red light. What can I do?

I had the same thing - one long red flash followed by four short red flashes. Plugging and unplugging the power cord had no affect until I also unplugged all the cabled connections to the VCR and DVD player as well. Also, per the manufacturer's instructions, I unplugged the power cord from the surge protector and plugged it into the main wall outlet (which I tried first, but did not finally have success until I cycled the power cord unplugging process with all the cabled connections to the auxilliary devices unplugged as well).

The TV is in some kind of protection mode, the blinking LED show you an error code.
Try pressing 062596 and then press menu button (do these in quick motion, don't let them to time out while keying)...see what happens
I also heard that this problem appeared with some people because the of the burnt fuse in the TV. To fix that it has to be taken to the tech shop. philips lcd 37pf9431d/37 - mecry.gif
And yes I also heard about this issue many times, seems like this TV set is very popular with this kind of problem.

the code flashing one then two red lights is for an upgrade of the software ---- you can go to their website and download a current fix to that problem onto a thumb drive----
\the power problem is caused by a bad power board--- you can replace them for any where from 130-330.00
dont need a service tech - take off cover and easy to replace---can find part on parts for philips televisions --- used is about 130 and new about 330 -- used is a refurbished unit and works just as good as the new one
