Why is my Keurig 2.0 not brewing full cups of coffee and unable to dispense only hot water?

It is making a grinding noise when it tries to begin brewing, and only slowly dripping coffee out. The coffee that comes out is less than what was chosen as a brew size and is incredibly stronger than usual. Also, occasionally it indicates that it's preheating for an extended period of time.

SOURCE: unit will not brew when pod is inserted; works w/o pod however.

This may be one of two issues:
1. The pump is malfunctioning which can cause the internal reservior to not completely fill which causes issues during brewing. My unit dribbled random amounts of water instead of brewing for about a week before the pump died completely.
2. The puncture seal isn't in the right position. Open the Keurig fully so you can see the sharp puncture pin. Very Carefully push the black rubber gasket around it all the way up. Then pull it back down about 1/16". Brew a cup, if the problem continues, try sliding the gasket further down by increments of 1/32".

Why are black particles being dispensed into the hot wqter from my Keurig coffee maker? How can this be corrected?

Hello, Irwin -

Those "small gritty black particles" are most likely coffee grounds which are so small they slip into the hot water and eventually the brewed coffee.

The grind size of your coffee may be too fine. Drip coffee method coffee makers, including the Keurig, require medium or medium-fine grind coffee.

You may wish to check your coffee maker to determine if coffee grounds leaked into the space between the k-cup and the k-cup holder:

My keurig will not dispense right amt of water

Try brewing a cup without a K-cup in it on the largest cup button (will brew just hot water). This will help clean it out in the event it is clogged. If that doesn't work, completely remove the K-cup holder where the needles are (careful not to get **** ) by pushing up from the bottom and rinse using hot water, preferably with a sink sprayer if you have one. Sometimes the needle can get clogged, especially if you ever use the hot cocoa K-cups, so the manufacturer recommends brewing a "blank" cup of just hot water after each hot cocoa K-cup brewed. Hope that helps...Best of luck!
