Are you still using alkaline batteries? If so, alkaline batteries just don't have the power for more than a few pictures in a digital camera. Some may also have reached their shelf life, and though right out of the package may even have problems just powering startup of the camera. Digital cameras that use AA's for the most part should only be used with rechargeable NiMH batteries. If you read the camera's instruction manual concerning batteries, you may see the same recommendation. Keep in mind rechargeable NiMH batteries will save you money in the long run over alkalines, AND they'll last for at least 100 pictures per charge (and probably many many more). You'll be very pleased with their performance, and may be angry with yourself for not buying them sooner. When at the store, look on the package for a power rating of at least 2500 mah.

How many hours will 4 AA lithium batteries power a constant draw of 2.5 watts?

2.5 Watts sounds pretty high for an LED strip. If the batteries are paralled and the applied power is 1.5 Volts, then you will be pulling 1.6 amps - the batteries won't last long at all. The batteries are good for around 2500maH, (Milliamp hours). so figure you may get around 2 hours of life for the batteries.

The battery does not seem to work anymore as it should be a rechargable battery. Even if i charge it for more than 8 hours, the battery goes out quickly. I want to know what kind/type rechargable battery...

In most shavers it is possible to strap the EQUIVALENT VOLTAGE/CURRENT cells in series/parallel to give the correct specified rating needed for the battery. If the original is hard to find or is very epensive I have tried many times to change with AAA or AA with rating of over 1000mA cells to be soldered together as required.
I hope you can remove and check the spaces within to try with this arrangement. If not replace with the original from Panasonic.

Shure's spec is that you should get 5 to 7 hours of CONTINUOUS use. There is OBVIOUSLY a problem.

First thing to check is what brand batteries you are using... some cheap ones from "C" have only a fraction of the energy content as name brand ones.

Second thing is expiration date on the batteries.

Next is to check the current drain of the bodypack with aa meter and compare to the specs for the battery. A good AA should deliver 2000 maHr.

The last thing is to realize that you CANNOT use rechargeable batteries in these devices. The rechargeables have a lower voltage and the circuitry will cut off MUCH earlier than with alkaline batteries. I would expect rechargeables to fail within 1 to 1.5 hours in this unit. As the rechargeables age, it would become much worse.

There seems to be humidity in the watch

If the humidity has been condensing or happening for a period of tmie longer than 3-4 hours, this watch should be taken to a Certified Master Horologist in your local area as soon as possible. The timepiece should be opened, dried out, resealed, and water tested.

If humidity comes and goes away within 3-4 hours it is a normal occurrence from extreme temperature change (A/C to outdoor heat, vice versa) (Outdoor cold to indoor heat, vice versa).
