Re: KESC307 Oven Door

Hi Mcrae...

Generally, the procedure is a straightforward mechanical one.

First, check below the door for screws and remove them. Next, open the door and find the screws on the side and inside of the door. Remove them. Careful...when the door panel comes off, the door will be much lighter and will slam closed if not restrained. The panel should 'fall away' from the door. Have someone assist you here! At each stage, take a digital picture of the disassembly so you can assist yourself in putting it back. Clean the glass with a blue cleaner and buff out. Use a scrubby or very fine steel wool to gently remove any stains from the old glass you're reusing. Do this on a bedding of newspaper. Always handle glass by the edges.

When installing the glass, it should generally be apparent which way it goes in. Some glasses have patterns on them which correspond to the door opening...if it is the outer which is being replaced. Note them. There may be an up or down as as a result. Any foils or patterns are positioned to the direction you won't have access to later.

You'll likely need a second pair of hands to put it all back together. Take your time. Don't force anything. Tighten screws evenly.

Had to remove the screws on the BOTTOM of the outside door, then panel came off after all the screws (inside oven door included) were off...
Reversed the order to put back on.. Cleaned (all) three glass pieces nicely... Now after reading the problems with the self cleaning part (doors getting stuck!) - I'm afraid to try mine!

Inside oven door glass broken Can I replace broken inner oven glass myself? I broke it today and need some help.

I would guess that you could not. It is a safety glass and has a special gasket material. Although you may be able to buy the door as cheap or cheaper than just the glass plus the install. Hope this helps. Have a great day.

Kitchenaide KGST307 cracked inner oven window.

Open your oven door and look at the hinges. You should see a drop down thumb lock on each hinge that you pull down and after you do so, lift up on the door as to close. The door will catch on these thumb locks and then at this point continue to lift up on the door as you pull the door out at the bottom. Reverse directions to reinstall.

To replace the door glass do the following:

1 remove the oven door by pulling it up and removing from the the hinges. If glass is broken , then secure glass with tape. Have a table with a cloth on top ready to lay the door.
2 Remove the outer screws , starting from lower side of the panel.
3Remove the inner screws. Keep all set of screws ordered, and take noteof the order you remove them. You will follow reverse order inreassembly.
4 the frame will be free now,
5 Remove the external glass panel and leave it in a safe place.
6 Replace the inner glass.
7 Clean outer glass and metal door, re-assemble it and mount it back

Kitchenaid superba Stove Door

Slid the bottom storage compartment completely out. On the bottom of oven door are four (4) screws that hold trim piece that support outer glass panel. Remove screws and carefully remove complete glass and trim assembly. There are two (2) corner trim panels that are also secured by two (2) of the screws being removed. At this point you can clean all glass (both the outer panel that was removed and the inner insulated glass) and all other built up goop. Simply reverse process to reinstall.

How to replace inside glass on KitchenAid KERC608 Type 30P Range

Open the door fully and with a small screw driver, look closely at the hinge area on the oven cavity. There you will see a small lever that will rotate down and lock the door in place. Once in the lock position, begin closing door, you will feel the door 'catch' then lift the door off of the oven.

Spill into oven vents

The best way to clean the inner glass is to remove the door from the oven. With the door in the broil open position (first stop) pull up for about 2 inches until the hinge brackets are released from their stops. Close the door all you can and lift the door off the hinges. Lay the door on a padded surface and remove the 4 screws on the bottom. The outside glass will now slide out of its rail and you can clean the inside. To install just reverse the process. If you take your time and observe, it's not that bad of a back.
