Question about Gateway M305CRV Notebook
Attach a external monitor and reboot -- if it comes up then the LCD on the laptop may be broken / damaged. Usually this is an issue with the back light from my experience. This is where I would start -- there are many other more complex issues it may be as well but this is the simplest. If the laptop was recently purchased I would look into what is covered by your warranty.
