I need a cooling fan.

My projector was dropped on its corner. Everything works except the cooling fan which some of the blades were broken off. Do you know where I can get a cooling fan?

Well, I have the same projector only with a bad power supply. I would be interested in selling it for parts o buying yours to make a good one. Apparently there was a screw loose in my for sometime and it made its way to the power and shorted something. My bulb is fine and has very littel hours on it.

Hey ReeseB,

I was wondering are you still willing to sell your Dell 2300 MP for parts? If you are then I would be interested in buying your color wheel. This is the wheel that is attached in front of your lamp. It has a mirror with different colors on it that spin. If you still don't know what i'm talking about email me back and I'll be more specific. My email is

Something is catching on the fan blades. Possibly a screw or piece of plastic has come loose and is connecting with the fan blades when you switch it on. When the projector has been cool for a few hours remove the lamp and gently shake the unit to dislodge whatever is catching on the fan.

Runco cl-610 projector

Likely the fan blades are dirty and out of balance. If this projector is in a dusty or smoky place you will need to clean them (or have them cleaned by a tech) often. If you are not good with electronics, I suggest taking it to a dealer. If you can get the covers off properly, you will need use a can of compressed air to carefully blow out the projector and fan blades.

Dear sir this product once on green indication within seconds going to red indication.

There are five fans in the projector.
2 for LCD cooling
2 for lamp cooling
1 for power supply and lamp drive unit
if any one is not moving, faulty, broken, than the problem occur.

Experience: many times a broken piece of plastic or self removed screw to stop the fan moving or jam to dust.

Solution: service your projector and fans

The cooling fan stop working on my Epson EMP 700 Multimedia Projector, can I get a replacement part and replace it myself?

The temperature indicator is red.
The projector is overheating, which turns the lamp off
automatically. Let the projector cool for a few minutes,
then turn it back on. Make sure nothing is blocking the
ventilation vents.
If the projector continues to overheat after you clean the air
filter, the problem may be caused by damage to the cooling
fan or internal circuits. Contact a qualified service person.
¨ Warning: Do not attempt to service this product yourself except
as specifically explained in this User's Guide.

Sanyo Projector PLC XU83 lamp is replaced 1 everything is fine 2 projector turned on and reset the counter 3 projector switch off and normal 4 Next time imposible to power on the projector After ...

Check the cooling fans. If they are not rotating the Projector will not start.
Did the lamp explode? If it did a bit of glass has lodged in the cooling fan and stopped it from working.
Hope this helps.

Dropped projector

It may HAVE fractured the solder connections to the RGB connector OR worst case may have cracked the circuit board to the connector.

Resolder the connections AND if necessary, bridge jumpers around the board cracked circuit traces.

Hey my optoma hd65 bulb blew so i replaced it and when i powered it back up i received the fan lock error

the lamp probably blew because the fan stopped. if the lamp can't cool down, it blows. you'll have to find out which fan and replace it.

Dell 3300mp Projector Loud Noise

Judging by the mains hum noise and now shaking it sounds as if a motorized component has broken.
Humming could have been the initial jam, then shaking the damaged part attempting to rotate.
Maybe check your cooling fan blades?

I have a ge above range spacemaker xl1800 it seems to work fine except their is a rattling noise when its running it sounds like a bad fan or something comeing loose it seems like its comeing from under...

The noise you are hearing is due to the fan. The fan is used to cool the magnetron during cooking, and because this fan is not working the magnetron is overheating and the thermal protector is opening, killing power to the unit. All you need to fix this is a new fan blade. The fan blade(look for part #80) is slipping on the motor shaft ( the noise you are hearing).

GE XL 1800

If the blade is broken then you can buy a new one from---

Please ask for further clarifications.

A Fixya rating would be appreciated if you find it useful.

To open this projector, you need to undo six screws at the underside of the case. That means you have to turn the projector upsidedown.
Pls note that one of these scews is a little hidden under the carrying handle.
After removing the screws, return the projector to it's normal 'up-side' up, standing position.
Remove the bulb cover srews and remove the bulb cover.
Lift up the top cover carefully starting from the front then all together.
The cooling fan is mounted very near the bulb assembly.
Carefully check the fan blades for any obtacles, wires or even a broken fan blade, that could be causing the noise.
