Question about Hoover F7220900 SteamVac V2 Upright Vacuum

1 Answer

Water does not dispense on wash cycle

When I pull the trigger on the wash cycle, no water comes out. However, it comes out fine when it is in the rinse position. Somehow, the soap is being dispensed - the carpet smells clean and the water pale has dirty soapy water in it. However, we can't figure out why water/soap is not being dispensed through the wash cycle.

We cannot find any clogs. When I go to refill the clean water tank, it bubbles up as though there is soap in it, even though there are two separate compartments for clean water and soap.

This would be the soap/ water valve. it is stuck closed or isn't opened.( no cure for an non-opened valve, just replace.)

Hoover troubleshooting

Hi! Try these quick and easy steps to get the water from your hose to spray.

Assemble the hose to the unit.

While holding the hose at an angle towards the ground, pump the trigger about 30 times. Turn the cleaner on then squeeze the trigger for 30 seconds.

If the water is still not dispensing there may be soap residue bulid-up clogging the nozzle/valve. Try soaking the trigger end in warm water for a couple hours, then repeating the steps above.

If the cleaner is still not dispensing from the hose but dispenses from the unit, a replacement hose may be needed. Follow the link below to order a replacement hose for your cleaner. Search Results

I have bissell proheat 2x 9200 no water or cleaning solution is dispensing from bottom of machine hand dispenser is not working too. how can I troubleshoot it?

Ensure you have water in tank and solution (or water in solution tank). When you start the vacuum up, the pump starts to prime itself. If you have air in the system, it takes a little longer to prime. Allow the vacuum to run for 1 minute before attempting to pull the trigger. Then pull the trigger.

If this doesn't work, you'll need to open the unit up and check the hoses for any clogs, and next test the pump to see if it is functioning.

The machine turns on and the indicator seems to be spinning but the water is not moving.

Operating the trigger does not dispense water into the spinning brushes - is that the problem?

If so, remove the clean water tank and look in the opening behind the black grommet that seal the water tank. Operate the trigger and look to ensure that the valve is operating (moves downward when trigger is pulled). If it does not move, the trigger shaft is stuck or broken and will need to be repaired.

No water/cleaning solution comes out on wash cycle

With this model, the soap dispensed is controlled by electric solenoids. these can be tricky to troubleshoot. I would take it to your nearest dealer. these solenoids fail, and cause a variety of symptoms.

Check the machine where the water tank is installed, you will see a pipe stem this stem should have an o-ring gasket on it. also look at the plunger in the tank for proper seating.

I hav a floormate, it is just new and I can't get the water to release on the floor to wash it. I have the dial turned to wash and I do not get any water, the brushes do turn, but no water.

I had the same problem. I brought it into a repair facility and they took care of it. It appears that the trigger mechanism is a plastic shaft that warps over time, so what they did was to "extend" the shaft so when I pull the trigger, it actually pushes the plunger up farther and allows more water out.

You can test this by taking out the top water tank and manually depressing the plunger on the bottom, does water come out on your hand? (do this over the sink! :-))

When you look at the seal on the unit itself, does the plunger go up and down a little when you pull the trigger? If there's a small amount of water in the little "cup", does it go down?
