Question about Kitchen Ranges

1 Answer

The inner coil on our dual element electric stove top just stopped working. We don't use it that much, so after only 16 months I doubt the coil is worn out. Is there a likely culprit that I can check and replace? It is a Fridigair model: FEF368GSA

Thanks for your reply. I'm not sure what you want me to clarify. When I attempt to put the inner burner on, the panel indicator for active element goes on, so the control is apparently working.

I was wondering if there was way to test the element before replacing it. Like I said, with little use, I would not think it should go bad (although I guess I could say that for the problem in general).

    Best Regards,
    Jim

Most likely it's the element...If it was the switch, it wouldn't work at all..

How do i turn the outer ring on for a dacor stove top

Pushing the button for the element will turn on the inner element at level 5. Before adjusting the level (so while the level indicator is still blinking) press the little circle on the right side of the controls for that element. The circle should light up. Now press the UP control for that element, and the level indicator should stop blinking. Now the outer and inner elements are both heating up. Adjust temp level to desired setting.

My GE profile electric range (model PS905SPSS) has a power boil burner with dual burner elements (one inner circle and one large outer circle). The outer circle one is glowing and heating but the inner...

Disconnect power to range. If you have an ohm meter, you can check the burner coils for continuity from the wires at the switch. If not, open oven door, remove screws holding top. Lift up top and remove screws holding the set of burners in question and visually inspect the inner coil for a break in the burner coil.

I have a stoves 900DFa and the electric grill has stopped working. I have tested the element and its not that. Do you have any ideas as to what else to check

Follow the wires that supply that element, if they go to a relay, check to see if the relay comes in when you turn on the stove.

If they go right to the dial, then the dial switch is likely bad. You can verify this with a meter.

Dual element burner on glasstop range...inner element stays on

It is the burner control (behind the knob). The triac in the control has failed. $50 item, 10 minute change. Just make note which wire goes to which terminal.

I doubt that it is the control board, as the board has little to do with the stove top, but rather controls the display and the oven temperature/feedback monitoring.

Hope this helps.

The inner right front element will not heat up on our Kenmore Elite ceramic stove top. The middle and outer elements on the right front work fine. Why is this happening?

inner element burned out. Either burner needs replacing or control switch is bad. Take out burner and see if coil has a break in it. IF not, then switch is bad. I cannot see your repyl due to some tech issue w/ the site, so it may be a day or so before I can reply again. Please leave feedback for me if appropriate. Thanks

Stoves 720ef grill not working

The grills appear to be independant of each other. Does the oven still work and the oven light come on?

Depending on your answer it could be that the Top Oven Switch has gone faulty. The Grill Regulator and the Switch work together on the top oven. To get at both you will need to take the top of the oven off.
