Question about Sceptre X22HG-Naga Monitor
I have just purchased a 22" Sceptre LCD monitor which I have connected from its DVI port to the HDMI port on my Scientific Atlanta cable box. When both units are turnrd on, there is no pictue on the screen, and the picture will flicker on and off for a short time and then just stay off. If I leave the LCD on for some time, (maybe an hour or so?) the picture will eventually come on and stay on. I have duplicated this several times. Is this a buggy monitor set up? I am at a loss.........
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

The only workaround was to not use the DVI cable but to use the old VGA cable. You still get the same resolution.
I have a different ATI board, so I'm thinking it's an ATI+Sceptre on DVI input bug. Anyway, use the VGA cable, it'll work.

already know what it is .
its the cfl power inverters which are build into the power supply
easy way to see is let the computer start up hold a flashlight up to the screen you should see your desktop .if so its the inverters/powersupply .

Have you tried any other monitor connected to your computer since your current problem? Check your connections, make sure your VGA cable/DVI cable are in good condition. If none of that works try to RMA it to sceptre if your still within the 1 year period.

I am working on one of these for a customer. Found leaky cap on 5 volt power supply. replaced it, still no backlight. Looked at the inverter with an o-scope and it runs for a few seconds then shuts off. I hooked a ccfl across each of the transformer secondaries on the inverter and it lit up! I believe the problem is failed ccfl units. There is plenty of voltage there to light them up, I have an rf burn on my thumb to show for it. I have not looked at the ease of dis-assembly of the display to replace the backlights. It does not look easy.
